Thank all the purple haired freaks in mid city for this disaster

It's frustrating because we worked hard to make them as maintenance-free as possible, yet LA still manages to frick it up.
Our state is just so collectively lazy it's insane.

This is when the real nightmare will begin. 18 wheelers up and down one laned Government st. I'm not so sure traffic has been diverted to this point to side streets. Which ones would be used?
But bumper to bumper 18 wheelers and out of town traffic is going to be the ultimate cluster frick and the now booming restaurant and bar scene is gonna suffer badly.

Those stupid medians where a central turning lane should be is dumb. You can do away with left turns in an area but you MUST make u turns for people to get around reasonably. Making it impossible to make a left or a u turn is dumb, but what else should I expect out of BR.

Have a problem with Government street? Drive down North instead. I live off of Government street, and unless I’m going to Calandros or a restaurant on Government, I’m driving down North. And I’m saying this as someone who likes the road diet (except for the planters, they should’ve left the whole thing as a turn lane).

Here’s what I don’t get about that argument… there’s always been ways to BYPASS Govt, like North.
The issue IS Govt, where all of the businesses are. The entire project did not solve any problem, it created one.

Drive down N. Oak Hills Parkway and you’ll see this on bright display.
My Oak Hills people will know what I’m talking about.

Imagine being stuck in a 5 year lease for your retail business priced at the traffic count when you signed the lease

This road diet was doomed from the start. I called every single problem.

Just wait until the I-10 lane closures begin.....

May have been the point but it was fricking stupid depending on which end of Government you were on.
Government between Jefferson and Foster can’t connect to North Blvd and the other areas they want you to use unless you get on Foster and head up. That’s a bit of a problem when the whole of Foster is gridlock.
That part was something that could have been dealt with when Public Safety moved from North Blvd and Foster, but they decided to put BRCC there instead of cutting through North Blvd to Rebel Dr.

If you don’t feel safe, you can always “take an alternate route”.

The “landscaping” under the Perkins overpass area was a bad idea from the start and looks even worse than I imagined.

It’s not about worrying about my safety, but it’s about how the C-P and state waste my tax dollars.
First spending money to choke down a prominent highway and then turning it into Mallberry Lane. Then it’s finding out that it’s going to require thousands of dollars to maintain the mess they created.
But maybe the second part might not be necessary. Maybe all those good folks who help plan the mess and helped push it through will volunteer their time to keep the landscaping intact? Please suggest to your neighbors. Tgry can pick weeds, fix up the wood chips and water the plants.

It's made Government St unusable almost. Just typically idiotic BR bs. Horrible.
