I learned on a 97 ram air trans am. 6 speed transmission. We had two other vehicles that were automatic, but I was told if I couldn’t drive a stick, I couldn’t drive at all.

94 Ford Ranger Single Cab 5 speed manual
Posted on 11/16/18 at 12:42 pm to GreyWhiskers
1990 Chevy S10 five speed manual. Was used as a delivery truck for my uncle's business and he gave it to me after it had well north of 150k miles and was replaced. Vinyl seats, no power steering, no power anything. It at least had A/C though.

For an automatic, a 1978 Ford full-size Ranger pickup.
For a standard, a 1972 Toyota Land Cruiser.

Lordy, Lordy, I'm going to sound like grandpa. My first car was a 54 Plymouth Plaza with 3 on the tree, a flathead 6 cylinder engine, 6 volt positive ground electrics and to start it you turned on the key and pushed a button like the old style dimmer switches on the floorboard.
It had an AM only radio and heat. To keep cool in the summer, you rolled down the windows and hoped for the best. No seatbelts and a solid steel dashboard to cave in your head if you got in a wreck. Loved the window cranks though since two turns and the window was all the way down or up.

LOL MY dad had one of these back in the day just as little parts getter for his auto repair shop. Total stripper. It was an 88 model S10 4x2 had a 2.5 4 cylinder and a 4 speed manual tranny, am radio manual everything, vinyl bench seat didn't even have carpet LOL. I think he bought it for $150 down $100 a month for 36 months or something like that. Everyone hated that truck.

OP, I like your pic of Popcorn Sutton. I met the guy years ago up in Maggie Valley, N. C. when up there at a bike rally. Got to buy a few quarts of his famous shine when there and enjoyed the hell out of it. He was certainly one hell of a character that looked to be straight out of "Snuffy Smith" fame.
Too bad he got caught that last time and decided to run his vehicle in a closed garage until he was gone instead of facing jail time.

That was my 3rd car. My second was a 59 Ford that a friend had put a Police Interceptor engine in it from a wrecked State Police cruiser to hot rod it a good bit. I snapped a few driveshafts off that thing getting on it from dead stops.
