Are you able to get a job doing the same thing that will pay you the same amount and and not cap you? Are you able to get a job, doing something else, where you can earn what you earn now? You can either go to another job or stay where you are and consider the "work for free" part as part of the job.

We have law enforcement making close to $200,000 annually and STILL have to call in the national guard to do their job.

The federal taxes I pay to the government each year basically equates to working for the first 4 months of the year for free. They are generous enough to let me keep the earned income from the following 8 months of work.
