Few corrections... Sun's light is about 8 min away.
Andromeda crashing into our Galaxy will have almost zero affect on our solar system unless the middle passes over our spiral arm. The analogy is if our solar system was the size of a pea and you throw it into the Pacific ocean, the chance of you getting close to another pea, even though there are billions of peas, is tiny. Space is big!!

Universe is just expanding into another universe
Wouldn't that mean neither could be considered a universe then?
Lets call it.. ConvergentVerse....

Do you mean stars on the end of observable space? Because many of those have definitely exploded already.

Hopefully we can figure it all out in the next billion years, before it happens.
By then there will be no humans. We will have evolved into a higher state... no bodies, just consciousness.

because the Andromeda galaxy and the Milky Way are on a collision course
Yes, but there will be almost no actual collisions between celestial bodies because everything is so spread out.

This is something that has always frustrated me about both the universe and our ancient history. We think we're smart, but we don't know .0001% of shite.
I wanna know stuff, dammit.
