It tastes good if you get a decent brand, but it’s expensive and isn’t good for you. So much sugar.
People used to drink it because they thought it was healthy. Vitamin C. As it turns out, it’s not.

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone drink orange juice in close to 10 years. I havn’t seen the little frozen tubes of it in stores either.
Yeah, poors only drink colas and stuff they make from a powder. Big Star probably doesn't have frozen concentrate either so that's probably why you don't see it.

Growing up in the 90s I remember drinking it fresh squeezed for breakfast, now I don’t drink it unless it’s cut with vodka.

Wtf do all you have against sugar? Ain’t nothing wrong with some natural sugar

When I was a kid I constantly saw commercials for Florida orange juice…now yiu never see them.
Since it’s not marketed as much, I guess not sold as much.
Also yes a ton of sugar.

I feel the same way. You get up and have breakfast and if a glass of sugar water is mixed in then no biggie. It's a long day.
It's like ice cream to me. For as little as i eat I want the real stuff.

I only drink orange juice when mixed with cranberry juice and vodka. Typically on the golf course or if we are doing a brunch on vacation

What has happened to this once dominant juice?
HURRICANES AND CANKER (2004–2005)
Between 2004 and 2005, four hurricanes reduced the size of the orange crop and further spread citrus canker, a bacterial disease damaging to tree health and fruit quality, to previously unaffected areas.
GREENING DISEASE (2005)
The Florida citrus industry faced an additional challenge in 2005, when citrus greening disease, a bacterial disease deadly to citrus trees, was first detected in its commercial groves. Citrus greening disease, also known as HLB, leads to premature fruit drop, unripe fruit and eventual tree death.
With no known cure, citrus growers use a variety of management strategies to protect young trees, increase tree immune response, sustain grove health and improve fruit marketability. While these management strategies can partially offset yield losses, they increase the costs of production.
MORE HURRICANES (2017 and 2022)
Hurricanes in 2017 and 2022 dealt further damage to Florida’s citrus industry. Since 2003–04, bearing acreage of Florida’s orange trees has declined at an average rate of 3% per year. In April, USDA forecast Florida orange production for 2023–24 at 846,000 tons, 19% higher than the previous year but the second-lowest harvest in nearly 90 years.

It causes gout, acid reflux and diabetes. I don’t want any of that. I drink whole milk and a black coffee.

It's become so intertwined to me that I get upset when the hotel doesn't have any OJ.

Natural orange juice without ADDED sugars is perfectly healthy. Naturally occuring sugars in fruits, and even vegetables, are NOT the same as ADDED sugar. Fructose, the natural sugar in fruits, is slowly digested in the body so it doesn't raise blood sugar levels as quick as ADDED sugar. It also has fiber, vitamins, and minerals in it.
Natural sugars are not the same as ADDED sugar. Look at the ingredients listing on your orange juice. If you do not see any type of sugar in the ingredients listing, it is natural orange juice with no added sugars.
Look at the Nutritional Facts listing also. If it includes any amount of "Added Sugars" under the Total Sugars sublisting under Total Carbohydrates, then you have sugars added to the food. If it only shows Total Sugars with no "Added Sugars" then it is just natural sugar found in the food, which is perfectly healthy.

I like grapefruit juice more, but I can't drink that any more due to some medications.
Warfarin? I have to avoid grapefruit (and a whole bunch of other fruits and vegetables) due to how they interact with warfarin.

I would pound some Sunny D in my days as a yute
However most fruit juices make my stomach hurt nowadays.

Alot of ignorant people in this thread thats why. The juice from an orange is not bad at all for you. It's better than any alternative most of these mockingbirds drink every morning. There are plenty of options on the shelf that are just 100% juice from oranges.
