Just got back from there. Saw maybe 3 black people the whole time. Are they trying to attract more blacks? seems like a bold move there.

TRUE. I saw ONE black family in downtown Gatlinburg. They were all in Bama gear.

But at the gas stations and around hotels, We saw a shite-ton of Mexicans there to rebuild resorts and cabins. Still a lot of work to be done. Gas station lines were 5-10 deep in mornings with all the workers in town.

And just because...here is a link to Jolene, one of the greatest country songs of all time

Hate to correct you..but with the White Stripes cover...Jolene crossed over to one of the greatest songs of all time (regardless of genre).

Get your Dixie beer while you can. I suspect that they too will capitulate when attacked by sjw insanity.

You’ve heard of the greatest generation?

Well, this is the cowardly generation.

Will Winn-Dixie change it's name too? It's so evil and racist now.....

Given that it's parent company is in serious financial trouble, it probably will change it ... to Publix

Good song, no doubt. But IMO, that's not even her best song.

Miley Cyrus's cover is better than that.

We spend a week in that area each year and I doubt anyone there has a problem with it. They also have one in South Carolina I think. They want to expand to other cities and this will allow them to do so without being deemed racist. It's a good business move for them.

Soup was the worst part of the food. Terrible. I had to pour what must have been a couple tablespoons of salt to eat it.

Off of the main topic re Dixie stampede: what about the entertainers? How do you end up working at Dixie stampede? Failed rodeoers? Failed singers? And how much are we paying these people. Fascinating to me.

Just smart business. Why hang to that title if it makes people hate you. Or worse yet makes people who attend over time say “frick it”?

I've been there twice. It was completely full both times. They weren't hurting for business. And based on the customer demographics, I doubt there's many who were offended by the term Dixie or by the Confederate vs Union team setup. Probably pissed more of their customers off by caving to pressure from SJW's who aren't going to the Dixie Stampede anyway.

Been a while since I took a trip to the Smokies. Wasn't aware they even changed to generic red vs blue instead of Union vs Confederacy like someone else mentioned.

The food is meh, but you’re going for the show, and the show is worth the price. I agree, they’re pissing off the wrong people. Trying to cater to the minority’s. I suggested Gatliburgh to a black buddy of mine when he asked me about cheap quick getaway time with his wife. He said she told him “there’s too many white people in Tennessee.” So black people don’t want to go up there anyway.

Too many white people in Tennessee? How about Memphis? I guess she wasn't a geography Bee champion in grade school.

How dare they assume the identity of a show just because of where it's located.
