Agree about everything said…
But, just had a great experience yesterday for the first time in awhile.
Got togo family meal from Johnnys Catfish and seafood in NW Shreveport.
12 catfish filets, a giant togo box of fries, slaw, beans, tartar sauce… for $37.00.
It was legitimately enough to feed 6 people.
I was so pleasantly surprised.
But, just had a great experience yesterday for the first time in awhile.

I’ve been eating Big Macs too long to admit and they haven’t really changed over the years… except they started toasting the buns a couple years ago which made them better. Along with the fries, about the only things there that I care for.
They may seem smaller now that places like 5 guys and behemoth burgers are more of a thing.

I don't know particularly how Sysco operates, but the company I work for also has a large presence in Restaurant distribution among the larger fast food chains. I don't work with that side of the business much, but I was always told as the wholesaler we don't really have a say in the products we supply to a concept (chain). The concept is the main negotiators with the manufacturers and they agree upon the products they will purchase and at what price. As wholesaler we are just ultimately paid for the logistics and warehousing. So holding that to be true it's likely the manufacturers pushing all major chains to carry similar items/quality products. Which makes sense, in the manufacturing world SKU rationalization makes operations much more efficient and cost effective

It didn’t taste frozen. I grew up on Caddo lake catfish. I could tell they breaded it themselves because it had a little too much flour not enough cornmeal for my preference but it was legit. For $37 bucks I honestly didn’t care. Probably farmed.

Guess it depends on location. Metairie closed down. Denham has bad reviews. Chilis equals Applebees and Fridays to me, a no go.

It closed my local Cafe, not because it was by force but the employees stayed home and was given stimulus checks.
That caused worker shortage which reduced the hours and finally closed for good.

I’d like to know how they are doing that, because just a box of real catfish filets in grocery stores around here is going to be around $35-$40 when not on sale. Even then, it’s more like 8-10 filets, definitely not 12.
