One time my ma didn't check my Halloween candy, and when I started eating some of it, I realized someone had wrapped up some doo doo as candy.

Going to be dangerous this year again after I consume an entire package of these:

I remember a man poisoning his own kid with PixieStix and cyanide. He also gave some tainted stir to his daughter and neighbors children. They didn’t eat them. This was in Houston 1974.

The Man who killed Halloween - Wiki Link.

The State of Texas executed the man. Heinous crime.

Knew a kid who claimed he got some hallucinogenic laced candy when he was very young. Couldn’t verify.

Is he worried that the candy is laced with drugs or just a bunch of garbage?

This goes with the story of the guy that put HIV on a pin and taped it to the inside of a soda machine coin return, and some sad sap put his hand in there to get his change and got HIV.

Fricking BS had me hypersensitive to soda machines for like 15 years, come to find out HIV dies of oxygen and light exposure exposure in like 60 seconds.

The Don't Take Candy From Strangers thing was more about kids not being lured by a stranger, not so much about the candy. I remember when I was in 3rd or 4th grade, we were shown a film in school warning us not to go anywhere with a stranger, who may try to lure you with candy.

At the end of the night I used to go to the candy apple house and he'd give me dozens because kids avoided them. It was easy to eat around the razor blade.

Dangers of Halloween candy are that they’re filled with refined sugars, gums, and food dyes. It’s like Soylent green. The candy IS the drugs.

Since I was a kid, I've heard don't take Halloween candy from strangers and about needles or razors in apples or broken glass in candied apples or other tainted candy that you may get from a stranger.

Has anyone here ever actually experienced anything like this or know someone that has?

No, it has not, at least not to the extent that it is a threat. It is far more likely a child will die from asphixiation from their costume choking them to death. No need, however, to let facts keep a good irrational fear alive.

Folks in our neighborhood were convinced it was happening millions of times a day in the US. Folks are ATE up with the dumbass. Those same people lock their doors and have ring doorbells in an upper income area with almost no crime of any kind...they live in constant fear that somethings gonnna get 'em. The scared frickers tote guns everywhere they go LOL. Dairy Queen? Take the gun, never know. I don't know how adults got to be so damned scared and naive combined....
