You realize they aren't "taking the gun" places so much as they carry a sidearm everywhere they go, right?

What's the point of having one if you don't have it when you need it?

Chancing a major thread derailment but having it may created a need to have it as often or more so than ever actually needing one....

It happened a few times in the 70s and 80s, people assumed it was widespread.

There is a higher likelihood that some careless fentanyl or meth addict will be careless with how they handle their drugs and wind up transferring some amount of a schedule I drug to the candy somehow which is small but enough to hurt a young enough child.

Not that that happens a whole lot. I'm just saying its more likely.

Do they carry around a defibrillator, too? In case they should need it or someone else?

I remember our local hospitals letting parents bring their kids in to have their candy bags X-Ray’d in the 80s over the hysteria about razor blades in candy.

Has anyone here ever actually experienced anything like this or know someone that has?

This all started back in the 70s when a child died after ingesting a cyanide-laced pixie stick. It was blamed on poisoned candy until it was discovered his father murdered his child.

Since then, the poisoned/tainted treats lore has persisted as a standard for Halloween warnings, even though there have been zero cases of anyone finding a razor blade in their apple.

Oh, and the thought people would give away their drugs has always been funny

I carry around a defibrillator too, so I can die next to a defibrillator

Leave it to a literal commie to never understand a single thing he claims to understand.

Youre quite the pleasant surprise on the OT, your stupidity is very entertaining.

Do you have a belt of some kind you strap it to, a vest, or like a big bag you tote it in? That’s a lot of stuff to keep handy.

Yeah, there were a few isolated cases. Razor blade, needles, poison...

As a kid, I think this was the first real panic I remember hearing about, but in our neighborhood nothing changed.

There's probably zero chance a meth addict is handing out candy on Halloween

Most fleet vehicles carry fire extinguishers and first aid kids.

Some people carry condoms, some carry things with them to be prepared.

I like’d like to try the Stoned Oreos front and center. Weird that the sour patch are drugged but the other ones aren’t.
