mean I carry an epi pen, fix a flat and a fire extinguisher around with me too. According to the CDC 94.5% of Americans will be stung by a bee. According to AAA 81% of Americans have had a flat tire. According to the NFPA about 32% of Americans will have a fire in either their home or automobile. According to the FBI Americans have a 2.58% chance of being a victim of a crime. That number is about 75% less than that for violent crimes. One of these things is not like the others...one of these things doesn't belong.....

How about this. I’ve never been stung by a bee, never had a wreck but had a knife pulled on me, and a bully club pulled on me.
The fact that I had a pistol made sure I didn’t get stabbed or clubbed.
Both times I was in a normal part of town, broad daylight.

OP - hate to be the one to break it to you all these years later but your parents lied to you because they just wanted a fake noble reason to go through your candy and take the good stuff.

It's kinda like the satanic cult that gather in every neighborhoods wooded area

I remember always hearing about two spots around BR in the 80’s where this was supposedly happening in the 80’s.

And speaking of dumbasses, an hold high school friend posted on Facebook this week about how Halloween is evil and how much she hates the holiday with all of her bullshite religious reasons. I friended her. One more loon I don’t have to see stuff about.

I remember one year (it might have been one of the last years I trick or treated since I remember it) I asked my daddy to check my candy to make sure they don't have poison in my candy. I think I heard kids talking about it or something and he was like "you think if someone wanted to hurt kids they would wait for one day of the year to do it?" That's easy to say when you are not the one eating the candy.
