I agree. The purpose of the lockdown has been served. The curve has been flattened to the point that hospitals and other health care agencies can handle the load of new infections.
Also, there are no new hot spots where the virus’ spread is out of control. Americans, for having such a giant, heavily populated country, are doing a great job in slowing the spread of the virus.

I have not had the virus so I can't tell you the answer.

Not yet. But it could be if we let folks who think we should stay shutdown for months and months on end to have their way.
It was absolutely the right move to act fast and to drastically slow down the spread of this thing. This could have been alot uglier had we done nothing and pretended this was no big deal.
As of now, it looks like by and large, our hospitals are surviving and not being overrun. Not only that, we have been given more time to properly stock on essential equipment such aa PPE, vents, etc. Allow businesses to reopen, encourage social distancing still. For companies who can afford to have their employees work from home, continue to do so. Restaraunts/Bars have a capacity limit. Schools will stay shutdown for the remainder of school year unfortunately. Sporting events/concert venues are also still shutdown. (I feel for these people who are employed in this sector, they will be out of work a long time, and I wish it werent this way. But at least with the country back up, they should hopefully be able to find other work)
Hopefully by mid June this thing is largely nipped in the bud by then and life can continue on as normal.

As so many like to point out anytime a comparison between the two is made, this is not an influenza virus. It’s a Coronavirus. Influenzas mutate at a rapid pace. It’s why they always have to guess at what type of flu shot to produce every year. It’s because whatever flu strain coming this year is different from last year. Coronavirus doesn’t mutate as often or as rapidly as influenza.

The problem with your query is there is no real control group so any hypothesis is based on supposition. People can only reply with their feels.
