Elon says AI will usher in an era of superabundance where humans will have their needs met without having to work. Seems doubtful. I guess we'll see.

A slow population decline wouldn’t really be that bad, especially since the world population didn’t even reach 1 billion until something like 1850 IIRC.
But the current population decline is not that slow, and it’s resulting in a poor ratio of workers to retirees ratio.

Geographically, they were Asian before they moved to Europe.

Is this a population problem or a problem of too many working age adults being supported by the govt? I’m much more compassionate with seniors being taken care of vs working age men on the govt dole.

It's all an extension of the boom that was experienced after the end of Word War 2. Folks at the top get accustomed to - and eventually, expect - infinite growth. So when the population leveled out and decreased naturally, those same folks couldn't stand it, and came up with a patch to nature's bug: import infinity third worlders to replace the boomers.

Thanks Captain Obvious.
In the context of the UK, “Asian rape gangs” typically means South Asian: Pakistani, Indian, Bangladeshi; not East Asian like Chinese or Japanese, which is what most people picture. That nuance tends to get conveniently lost in the conversation hence my previous point.

History has example after example of what happens to societies when their population begins to decline.
