Friend,

Mother and I are not idle worshipers. While you may find it to be the 25th week, for those of us whomst find redemption through our faith, and not our works - it is the 17th week.

Peace and blessings,
LSUTulane

Meh you are hiring hourly labor. Temper your expectations. You aren’t looking for your next accountant.

I have had 4 jobs since 2018 but can demonstrate a salary/responsibility increase with each move. But some boomer thinks I’m a risk because I didn’t stay at $38000 a year for 6 years to make my resume look clean

But do they not realize that I am not going to even call them back knowing that they bounce around to different jobs every few weeks and months?
So you are going to just throw away an application because they continually get job after job? You sound like an idiot.

YES. I am not going to train someone and have them leave after they learned all of their shite from us. I'm an idiot for filtering out job jumpers? Okaaaaay

That is not how to filter out job jumpers. If you are hiring the best looking resumes, then you are hiring the job jumpers (orbest liars). Hire the person whose skills meet (not exceed) your requirements yet is excited to work for you.

Well, considering a lot of them came from competition and they don't last only a few weeks, no thanks. If they can't handle our competitors who I know very well, then they can't handle shite. So yea, that's how I filter them out.

The job starts at $25/hour so it's not the very low end of the Totem pole as far as jobs go

That’s the very low end of the salary range good luck finding someone worth a shite for that shitty pay.

Don’t complain when you can’t find anyone to take the job, people can find other jobs and depending on where you are $25 an hour might not move the needle. The potential employees that are interested in $25 don’t have a chance because many employers wouldn’t even consider them because of lack of loyalty. This isn’t 1980, why would people have loyalty to any company that doesn’t care about them? People need to get over there selves when it comes to the hiring process, or continue to bitch about not being able to find any employees.

Maybe companies should take care of their employees and people wouldn’t bounce around all the time

What is it they need to do for you to say they are taking care of you?

When you interviewed they tell you what they need you to do and what amount of money they are willing to pay you to do that along with whatever benefits they offer. A song as they pay you that amount of money and give you the benefits and provide a safe work environment then they are meeting there obligations. What more do they need to do to “Take care of their employees”

You would be surprised at the amount of employers that see people (these are salaried positions mind you) that have changed jobs as "bringing new ideas to the company" or "being multi-experienced". Not making that up.

I remember being raised that changing jobs looks bad on a resume, but its honestly a non-factor for a lot of businesses.

Blows my mind, but I am sure there are still managers out there that are not a fan.

Unless you have never worked for any company or only worked for one you already know the answer.

Think about the employers you have worked for. Rank them from best to worst. The ones at the top of the list probably had some idea how to "take care of employees." There are a million things employers can do to make/keep employees happy just like there are a million things they can go to make/keep employees mad.

Serious question, what job rewards loyalty now days? Do they stay with the same company for the pension and healthcare in retirement?

No jobs reward loyalty but showing commitment to the company you work for looks good on your resume to other companies you're applying to.

I used to hire and easily weeded out resumes using the OP's logic.

Why spend money and time onboarding an employee that has a high probability of bolting soon?

I don't know who you are or what the job entails, but what I do know is that I've opened and expanded profitable restaurants and grocery stores around the country and I'm still young and hungry (33). On a personal note, I just got engaged and am thinking about switching gears to a long-term, less stressful career. If the position requires someone who is organized, ambitious, driven, and able to be part of or lead a team, then please provide a link and I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to submit my resume.

Thank you!
