LINK

That is the link to the Church International (I think they have "campuses" in Ascension, Livingston, and I guess Baton Rouge is closing. I guess if you are in three parishes you get to call yourself International.

Also heard they have the reverse ATM's in the lobby as well as a gift shop that sells items such as coffee mugs and t shirts.

Not surprising. Lot's of folks that had previously enrolled their kids at Christian Life found new schools for their kids to attend after it was taken over by The Church.

I know they expelled my cousin because he spoke up in agreement with some girl that criticized whatever church runs it. It may have been good at one point but it’s screwed up now

I went to their services at the br campus the last 2 weeks.

The world mocked Jesus, so why wouldn't they mock His church?

It was about 50/50 white and black people, great worship.

I heard that his son took over running things a few years back.
---nope.

Doctor Melilli is in his 80s, and you're right, he handed the reins to The Church, out of St Amant, last year. They took over the school too, but enrollment was way down from the peak years, and declined even more when The Church took over.

Now, The Church is leaving and another church from Mandeville is going to take over, but no school

Some people love it there but I see them as the type of church where men attend worship wearing bedazzled jeans looking like an extra from a Florida-Georgia Line music video.

private and parochial school enrollment nationwide has been declining at a fairly steady rate for over 2 decades now - the demographic that sends their kids to those schools is shrinking and having less kids.

I was basically forced by an old boss to go to a "Man's Weekend". It basically was "hard" Christian rock groups followed by the preacher talking about what it's like to be a man in today's world, followed by lots of prayers with the preacher speaking in "tongues" and a lot of people running around. It was the most absurd thing I have ever been a part of.

It was supposed to be a 2 day event (Friday night and Saturday). The Saturday was LSU vs Bama in Baton Rouge. I made an excuse of family tailgate and helping cook to get out of it the Saturday.

Has it declined in Baton Rouge and New Orleans where 26.4% of the children attend private school? The highest in the country

Non-denoms do not play around. They will throw fire if they must. And to steal a line from King of the Hill (regarding the music):

You're not making God cooler; you're making rock music worse.

If the boss had not reserved 2 rows upfront for all the employees, I easily would have sneaked out that bitch 10 minutes in and never looked back.

Parochial education (religious schools) has declined in most places mostly because they aren’t held to the same standards as a private school because of religious exemption. They remain popular in certain parts of the south because they cost next to nothing to attend and because people don’t realize there is even a difference between private and parochial education.
