$$$$$ for big pharma.

The only thing that prevents its spread is when enough people already have gotten it and gotten over it. They told us this at the beginning. But no one seems to remember.
The last time I politely mentioned the terms "herd immunity" and "virus attenuation", Angry Democrat Karen told me I was a racistsexisthomophobe and threatened to ruin my life. The State CONTROLS through COERCION and they rely on their NPC army to do so. And these people replicate with true pseudo-religious zeal.
This virus is going to do what ALL corona viruses do. Masks, shut downs or not. That's life on planet Earth.

We're still a long, long way from herd immunity. And to get there without a vaccine might be more painful than we want.

As a white liberal I understand racism and viruses more than you republicans, hell I understand racism more than those blacks. People wanting this virus to end are racists!! At least wait till Biden is in power to root for an end to COVID

don't buy these numbers for a second
I do. I think a whole shite load of people have had it and are walking around just fine. That number tells me that we need to ditch the masks and shut down bullshite and get on with things. Had the “flu” back in February. Went in Urgent Care and PA walked in and said “let me guess” and rattle off my symptoms. He had treated FORTY people that shift with the same thing. I am 100% convinced it was the Rona. Tamiflu, liquids and a day in bed and I was fine except for a nagging cough for a week or two. Turns out most of those patients and the others around town were from my Mardi Gras Krewe.

A vaccine is unnecessary for anyone who isn't high risk.

I’m no math let’s, but that would put the mortality rate at .002%?
The annual flu is around .01 if I remember

70-80% of the population gets every novel coronavirus.
So 70-80% of people have had SARS and MERS? Stop making up stats.

So this means the death rate is reallllllyyyyy fricking low and none of this reaction was necessary. Awesome.

The government and media has been gaming us all along for political reasons, and rational people know that. Mission: Accomplished

Is that not the point of a vaccine to prevent reinfection? I’m confused as to all the misunderstanding.

Natural infection is best for Immunity.
If an immune response is triggered their is lifelong cellular memory which lasts long after antibodies disappear.

That's not how herd immunity works

Ummm, are we seeing significant levels of immunity off of natural infections? I do not understand the public’s general mistrust of vaccines. Polio, smallpox, tetanus, flu, hepatitis, measles, mumps, chicken pox...would we tell people get those naturally because cellular memory?

Day 263 of 15 days to flatten the curve....

I work in vaccine research it’s not distrust in the idea of vaccines, it’s their value in the case of rapidly mutated viruses. I am not taking these vaccines because rushed testing with unrealistic propaganda numbers are things I won’t bu my into.
I am not saying these aren’t effective, but using people’s desperation to get back to normal it sell non-fully better medications is a bit much.
mRNA vaccines are limited due to their low stability and easy degradation in the cell. The main thought in their use is it more mimics the RNA viruses and only requires delivery to the cytoplasms rather than the nucleus like DNA vaccines require.
In the end, they work in theory, but have never been shown to be very effective. Even adding in adjuvants to piss off the immune system to get a stronger response has shown limited response.
This reminds me of Remdesivir. It didn’t work on anything and hey magically pushed it through for Covid-19 to find a way to make money off a failed drug even though it still shows little to no effect.
