We were invited to some old friends home for New Years Day football/food/fun.
Upon arrival the wife (who's never worked) immediately starts:
Hey look at our new patio, it costs $57,000
Hey we had the yard landscaped, it costs $12,000
Did ya'll see my new SUV, it was $72,000
Look - this is Johnny's new boat (he's 12), it costs $27,000
On and on and on all fricking day, by the time we left we knew what everything in the house costs.
Needless to say it was my last party at their home.

We banned boats in our neighborhood many years ago. Boat ownership requires storage at an offsite marina and proper paperwork must be presented with the annual HOA assessment.

This girl I went to high school is like that. I’ve been a few social settings with her through mutual friends that she’s pretty much alienated. Just on and on about how much her husband makes (not really a lot) and how much the house she was building costs.
She also had a “Id like to speak to the manager haircut”....
