“Nice! You got a deal on that patio! Another friend dropped over $100K on his.”
“A guy at work has that SUV. I hope yours doesn’t break down like his all the time.”

I would have showed her my million dollar dick.
Well, it was never appraised. That is just my estimate.

Not so much Baw, more annoyed.
This stupid bitch is on her third husband and has four kids by three different men. I don't envy their situation at all.

Ha. I remember in jr high eating lunch somehow we started speaking about how much our parents made. Not sure why. Got to me, and I said I had no clue. Honestly really wasnt sure about the convo as I was kind of to young for all that. Anyway later that night I naively asked my dad at dinner, and he said "thats none of your business son. Thats between me, your mom, God, my employer, and unfortunately the IRS."
We've gotten sooooo far away from having privacy about things like this it's crazy. To the point i've gotten weird looks when I tell someone i'd rather not talk about my finances. it's like the concept of privacy baffles people. Sad

People like that suck at life, and are only the envy of other sad, empty souls. It's like the couples/families that post everything they ever do on social media. No one envies them, no matter how hard they try. Their insecurities are glaring to anyone with a brain.

Upon arrival the wife (who's never worked) immediately starts:
Hey look at our new patio, it costs $57,000
Hey we had the yard landscaped, it costs $12,000
Did ya'll see my new SUV, it was $72,000
Look - this is Johnny's new boat (he's 12), it costs $27,000
There is a lot of things called trashy on this board but I have to say this is 100% trashy. Personal finances are just that. Personal.

Sounds like you need less "new money" friends.

That's damn near everyone on this website

People like that are drowning in their debt and want affirmation on all the bullshite they have bought. That's why they constantly bring up the price of their shite. They have no savings due to the out of control spending and reliance on credit. If there happens to be an emergency one day, they will have to take out yet another loan because they can't scrape up $2500 in cash if their life depended on it.
It really bothers me that so many people live life like this just to keep up their sense of belonging within the community because one of the moms at the PTA meeting drives a 65k dollar Yukon XL. I have a couple of friends who are now ruined financially because they lived on nothing but credit, an emergency came up, and they couldn't come up with the cash to live within their means for a little while. Sad.

This. I have a friend since high school who pretty much has never accomplished anything significant (OK, he got a college degree), and who has had millions (yes, millions) slip through his fingers (and his nose...). His dad died and left the kids a ton of money and property, and listening to the guy, he thinks he is the smartest dude ever to walk the planet. Like he did any of it himself. Look, I'm happy that he doesn't have to work, but the smug arrogance is insufferable.

At least you recognize that this is no way to live... Don't get too high on your high horse in judgement, but recognize that boasting is for the birds.
Jeremiah 9:23-24
23 Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, 24 but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord.”
