It's very taboo to talk about what everything costs. That's why I just leave price tags on things, or if they don't come with one, have it made. That way everyone knows, but I don't have to be inappropriate and talk about it out loud.

I get that it's classless for your friends to talk about how much everything they have costs, but does it really bother you that much that you wouldn't hang out with them again? I wouldn't really care, it's kinda annoying but if you otherwise like the people I don't see how it's that big of a deal.
I would probably just try to one up them and make it a joke or something stupid. Not enough to destroy a friendship (if there was a real friendship there anyway).

Had next door neighbors that did that shite. They had tons of toys. Cars, Harley, Boat, Four wheelers, awesome deer camp...
And then it all came crashing down. The idiots had put a second and third mortgage on their home to fund their toys and defaulted on the note. So, of course, right when I try to sell my home they go into foreclosure. Nothing like a foreclosed home with uncut yard next door to generate home buyers.

Opposite here. An uncle on the wife’s side constantly mentions how cheap he buys things, great deals he got, and whenever I mention what I may have purchased, he asks what I paid. Then, bah dah bum tish, he mentions I paid too much, blah blah, blah....
