Shakira has never shied away from shaking her hips (half Lebanese)

Lebanese style belly dance is somewhere between the Egyptian and Turkish styles. Lebanese dance takes from the classic oriental dance, but still incorporates a feisty, modern edge. There are large steps, backward leans to the torso, twisting hip rotations, large and busy arms and lots of shimmies. The types of techniques that are used in Lebanese style dance are quick layered shimmies and subtle internal movements. Lebanese dancers sometimes include kicks, splits, deep back bends, and Turkish drops.

Have you ever heard of a false equivalence?
and yes, I have
a false equivalence would be like saying that the halftime show was like being at a strip club

So one gif made by a person whose mind is in the gutter, from one moment in a 14-minute show, that may or may not have been intentional, as opposed to every single second last night?
If you don't know that a large part of Prince's catalog and his live performance is about sex, then I don't know what to tell you. He was often times a little more subtle than J-Lo's constant crotch grabbing last night, but it was there.
I didn't see anything wrong with Shakira's performance. It was just Latin inspired dancing which is heavy with hip movements and gyrations. I've seen a lot of the same on Dancing With the Stars and nobody is losing their minds over that show.

How about just good music with some normal dancing and not soft core porn in a setting where kids are sure to be watching?
Have you watched a SB halftime show in the last two decades? Nipple-gate was 16 years ago. YOU KNOW what is going to be on the halftime show. It's your fault as a parent for letting your kids watch it if you disagree with the content.

Haha wtf did you think was going to be on when you heard those two were going to be dancing.
Both Fox apps that were streaming game on AppleTV made me bump up device's TV rating settings to allow TV-MA. I don't know for sure if covering themselves because of half time show, but I haven't had that happen before with other live sporting events.

Apparently you've never been to a strip club.

Shakira got the white boys in love
JLo got the brothas...

False choice logical fallacy.
So it’s either “Christian family entertainment” (which no one is saying it should be) or twitching crotch in your face entertainment?
Not necessarily but since they gave plenty of heads up about who was doing the halftime show, I think the term "logic" applies to using it in advance to anticipate what type of show it would be.
Unless a parent has been under a rock for the last 20+ years, which in that case their kids are gonna have way more issues than the halftime show, they should assume that JLo and Shakira will be shaking their asses a good bit of the time and plan accordingly with their kids.
My daughter and I took a trip to Arby's and missed the whole thing. So my point is that just a touch of preparation can solve a lot of the issues one might have with the show.

This is what I meant when I say that some people are only Christian when it benefits them. Specifically they are team Christ only when it comes to talking about Muslims.

I challenge some of these parents to really dig deep and look at what their kids do on phones, the internet, etc.
The stuff I see at the schools on a daily basis is sick. The perversion is much higher than my day, simply because they have access to it 24-7. Middle school boys know how to access dirty videos. Young girls call each other ‘ho’ and ‘slut’. It’s not just the bad seeds either. It’s everywhere.
Melting down over the halftime performance is a bit extreme when you look at everything we see in daily lives. It’s not okay to shake your arse, but it is okay to discuss sexuality, sex change, etc.

It would be a simile, and appears an appropriate one.
