My generation is like the whiny version of the boy who cried wolf...
They cry and bitch about so many things that nobody cares about this even if it is true.

Don't forget to add the guaranteed pensions a lot of those workers in '75 are now enjoying, of which millenials (and Gen Xers) will never see.
Government workers ,notwithstanding.

Whiners gonna whine. I'm a Gen Xer. I can assure you that I could have been born at any time period or any generation and been successful.

Universities are where one becomes educated. High school is where you learn to become a citizen. College =/= vo tech.

Is this more of a symptom of the rich getting richer?

There are plenty of jobs out there for millennials. It's just a matter of can you work with your hands or provide a meaningful service to the public. Most of the ones I know have zero meaningful work skills such as plumbing, masonry, carpentry, sales, AC repair, mechanics, welders, freight haulers, etc. They can change a light bulb and wipe themselves clean but I've found that many can't pass a drug test to save their lives and that alone takes you out of at least 50% of available jobs on the market. Sacrifices and struggles are unheard of to reap the rewards down the road. Instant gratification must be awarded or no shits given. This is a general observation and Im hopeful there are plenty who have good work habits but as far as past generational comparisons they seem unable to put it together to be successful. I'm a Gen Xer and have also had to deal with the dreaded boomers but have been successful so far because I'm honest, reliable, and out work the other competitors in my field. It's taken me 20 years to create my brand and I struggled mightily for the first 10-13 years. Success rarely happens overnight.

Cost of living and price of college is the real difference.
I make decent money for a 29 year old but I cannot afford a big property in a top neighborhood. I'm stuck in starter home and holding off on kids until my masters is done.
And college tuition rates are leaving my generation fricked sideways. Thank god that didn't happen to me.

Gen Xers bitch twice as much as any other generation. Nobody whines about you because you are a ghost and don't matter, but yall bitch about boomers and millenials equally.
What did your generation do besides spawn and raise a majority of those shitty millenials?

20 year old nephew got his welding certificate and made 40k last year. On pace for closer to 50k this year. There's a store full of delicious banana's and everyone is fighting over the apples. Eat a fricking banana.

100% true
A bachelors degree today equals a diploma 40 years ago.
$75,000 later

You talking about all the millenials, like me, who were a part of OIF/OEF too?
That's the problem when you lump all millennials into one category. Kids today are shitty, sure, but when you say all millennials- you're talking about a lot of guys that suited up for their country. Did you?

So much this - Plus greedy corporations can't outsource your job to India or bring in Indian welders and have you train them

Said every older generation about every younger generation. Rinse and repeat. You'd think folks would at least attempt to avoid becoming a walking, talking cliche. It must be a right of passage to enter senility.

I don't bitch about anyone or anything. I am perfectly satisfied with my life and career.
I laugh at people that blame another generation for their mistakes and shortcomings.
