I don't care that it's not illegal but do I have to smell it everywhere I go?

To me, this is in the same category as having gay pride parades.

Great, you smoke doobies. Congratulations. Why do I have to deal with the smell of it everywhere?

I've never had a larger group of people tell me how to "better myself" or try to give lifestyle advice than people on anti depressants.

These people legit need drugs so they don't kill themselves or others around them and then try to give others advice like they have any right to do so.

I've had more people that use hardcore drugs tell me not to > anti depression pussies wanting me to go down their pathetic life path with them.

Today is the first time I’ve seen anyone say legal weed will result in people using less heroin. You can bet there’s focus group data that indicates revisionist history is needed.

I never heard the argument either. I thought you would just have less crime involved around weed because it wouldn’t be illegal. But it’s still illegal federally so you haven’t solved the black market problem across the country.

This is the stupidest comparison I've read on the OT in a long time.

Not really.

I had a coworker who would bitch when she smelled onion during lunch.

Had another that claimed they were allergic to cologne and body spray and couldn’t be around it.

So yeah, smells bother all sorts of people.

Weed, onions, cologne, none of those smells bother me.

I would agree with that.

It absolutely is a gateway drug.

When you get drunk you are much more likely to want to find other highs with drugs then when you get stoned

It’s not remotely close

Imagine still writing hit pieces against the legalization of weed in the year 2025. fricking losers.

quote:

legal cannabis would lead people to use fewer opioids...Yet recent reviews suggest that legalization is more likely to increase than reduce opioid-death rates

that's such bullshite. Not once have I ever heard of that argument, at least from anyone reasonable.

This country has had an opioid issue for a while and there's nothing the legalization of weed was going to do to help that. That comes from years and years of doctors handing out pain meds like they were candy. Then, when these avenues started to dry up, people were left with few options. That's when you really saw the uptick in heroin use and now days fentanyl use. Not to mention the political issues and lack of border security from the last administration that made it much more easy for fentanyl to come across our borders.

TL;DR - if you're against legalizing weed in the year 2025, you're a fig.

Again, smoking weed isnt going to result in you becoming a hard drug addict. Opioid addicts don’t just pick up a needle one day and decide to shoot heroin. They started using weaker drugs, specifically weed, and evolved to opiates. I’m not trying to convince any of yall. No reason for me to do so. Smoke weed all you want

100 percent should be illegal

This is stupid. No one should ever go to jail, pay a fine, etc for marijuana. If that is the case the alcohol should be illegal.

I'm sober. But I smoked for a long time out of choice and can start/ stop whenever the hell I want. That kinda kills your "addiction comment"

Can't say the same for alcohol, opioids, and hardcore drug users.

Furthermore if I stop the worse that happens is internal temperature regulating and maybe a day or two of being aggravated.

People on opioids, alcohol, hardcore drugs have actual withdrawals and their body legit will shut down. Or they just immediately become a threat to themselves/ others.

And yes I can assure you I'm better than alcoholics, anti depression lunes, and hardcore drug users. I also envy people that don't use ANY of those including sugar, caffeine, and nicotine. That's the only group that is truly "better than the rest".

But most of them are assholes who would rather judge and despise everyone else over helping them.

Cough* cough* the Catholic approach.

Sorry but doctors feeding drug-seeking behavior with chemically-engineered pain medication for the last 30-40 years is the reason we are in this situation. Not because someone wants to smoke a plant that grows naturally in the woods. They only thing I will say negative about THC is that it hampers productivity. If I smoked pot all the time in my late teens and late 20s, I wouldn't have been nearly as successful as I am now.

Today? I am enjoying the fruits of my labor.

No one has ever died from weed. No one. For that alone it should be legal. I can die from aspirin or liquor easily.

I think if you want to cut down on opiod overdose you make low level codine an over the counter drug.
Tylenol 3 should be over the counter. People will always over do pain killers. So have safe options there so they don't get street pills.

Im not anti weed, but im 100% anti weed smell in public spaces.

The smell makes areas of major cities impossible to enjoy, much less enjoy in a safe way with children.

Do you expect truth and facts from a lib rag like the atlantic?
I've smoked weed for 50 of the 63 years I've been alive. I have never even once considered using opioids.
