That sounds pretty young to be age related deterioration. I'm not an eye doctor, FWIW.

You know you can change the font on texts to make the letters bigger, right?

Yep literally overnight for me. I use my phone as an alarm. Alarm rang that morning like all other morning except this particular morning I couldn’t read the text on the screen. Rubbed my eyes a few times as if there were something in them and it didn’t help. Told my wife and she started laughing saying “you need reading glasses babe.” I scoffed at her because I was able to read the screen just fine the night before. Sure enough she was right. I’ve had readers ever since.

Yeah same for me started getting bad enough to need 1.0 readers for small print about a year ago.

At 49 still using those but getting to the point I don’t look at my phone without them.

Getting old sucks but I’m thankful for the 48 years I had good vision. Both my parents had glasses in high school and are legally blind without them so be thankful for what you have.

BTW. I do find the supplement Lutein to help somewhat, IE I tend to focus and see better while taking it.

I was lucky enough to not need readers at all until I was 50. But man, when it hit, it was almost an overnight thing. You’re right, it’s aggravating as hell.

I made it 45 and you are right it happened real quickly. Seems like it happened over just a few days or weeks.

Do yourself a favor and commit to 3-4 months of this and see how that helps.

Happened with me as others said overnight at age 41. Father has glaucoma so went to his eye doctor. My vision is other wise perfect and there was nothing abnormal. Just part of aging. There are Lasik options.

You can wear a contact lenses in one eye with a prescription for reading, your other eye is used for things further away. Takes a while for the brain to adjust, but then you don’t notice.

This is what I do. It is called monovision. It works for me.

Welcome to the club. My sight went in 2 weeks. It seemed like overnight. Been since last July. I went from being fine then massive headaches then struggling to read.

Reading the responses, yep. It happens quick.

Lasik will not fix this. It's called presbyopia and it happens to everyone.

This- LASIK corrects near sightedness and astigmatism, but will not correct the natural aging of the eyes. I got lasik at 30 with the hope that I would get 20 years of good vision. There are some implant options where they surgically implant a lens on your eye. My cousin was one of the eye surgeons that first performed the surgery in Hattiesburg.
