I had gone my entire adult life with perfect vision, never having to consider where I left my glasses.

Then, about a year and a half ago, I started having trouble reading when I was tired. Then I started having trouble reading all the time. Got reader glasses. Started at 1.25. probably going to have to move up to 1.5 shortly.

I don't like this. Because I can't read text messages anymore without my readers, I basically have to wear them all the time. I've searched for whether this is something lasik or another type of eye procedure can fix, but the answers seem less than clear (no pun intended).

Anybody?

You don't like getting old?

Shocker.

I was lucky enough to not need readers at all until I was 50. But man, when it hit, it was almost an overnight thing. You’re right, it’s aggravating as hell.

I had lasik done in 2004 and I'm just now having issues reading up close.

Was like 38.5 for me. And same deal. I was good my entire life, and then it was seemingly overnight that it went to shite. It was literally no more than two months before I went to "blurry when super tired" to "frick, I can't read now".

Well, they are integrally intertwined. Can't rule it out.

You can wear a contact lenses in one eye with a prescription for reading, your other eye is used for things further away. Takes a while for the brain to adjust, but then you don’t notice.

Oh wow you need glasses. What a struggle that must be for you.

The only thing to do now is wear them around your neck so you can easily slip them on to read texts.

Have started getting the same thing. One eye is getting near sighted and the other is getting far sighted. Took some getting used to, and kept thinking I had something in my eyes. Hasn't got bad enough that I need glasses or anything, but I'm sure it will get to that at some point.
