When did The Advocate become a racist, anti-white newspaper?

It is time for a change and not just St George the city parish form of government needs to be disbanded. We need a City of BR govt and Parish government with separate budgets.

Now, by proposing to create a new city of St. George in the southeastern part of the parish, supporters would reverse the Greatest Generation’s path to progress, creating yet another layer of local government and a new class of elected politicians, with taxpayers footing the cost.

The people within St. George are already footing the bill for local politicians. Except they don’t get a majority of services.

Disingenuous nonsense.

That “shared and spread risk” translates to the people who have jobs and made something of themselves footing the bill and paying the way for Baton Rouge to piss away the revenue.

This.

This is quite literally the opposite of what is happening right now.

everyone I know is voting no. It's almost like small samples aren't good to extrapolate from. If it were going to pass with 70% why did it take so many attempts to even get enough signatures to bring it to a vote?

This kind of crap should not be allowed to be voted on.

Complete ignorance of statistical evidence and authoritarianism all rolled up into one post.

How very progressive.

ETA: This post is really amazing when you think about it. It basically says “You shouldn’t be able to make your own decisions because I believe something that is factually untrue.”

It took two attempts and the first was successful until the parish employees fricked over SG and magically disqualified just enough signatures. So they came back with 2k more signatures than needed as soon as they could.

Also, your friends are retards.

Didn’t it get enough signatures and then the city/state BoE said “oh we meant this many?”

And Together Baton Rouge was having their members sign the petition to inflate the numbers only to have them withdraw those signatures 24 hours before the deadline.

How anyone can support the tactics of Together BR regardless of their support for SG is beyond me. Liberals in all levels of government are slimy pieces of shite.

Together BR is a very racist group. Their agenda has absolutely nothing to do with bringing all people together. They want special rights.

I’ve become more and more convinced they only need to allow voting/signatures to happen in person on assigned days. There’s fukery anytime anybody is allowed to physically move votes.

ETA: I’m an outsider and an admitted conservative, but I just generally support people’s right to govern themselves to the most micro-level possible. I admit to not being fully educated on the entirety of the situation.
