Because military personnel can't be pieces of shite too?

One of my old bosses was a high level interrogator there. He had to testify in front of congress. I worked for him in 2010 in afganistan. He never spoke of his experience there and I didn't ask.... this is the first i saw of these photos. Pretty sick imo...

Abu Ghraib was a wake up call for me and deeply disappointing. I'd spent the years prior to that in the peacetime army and had naively bought into idea that we were better than that. Abu Ghraib was the first of several lessons that taught me otherwise.
I was already back from OIF1 when it happened and stationed in Germany. I remember walking to work in my uniform and wondering how many people were thinking about it when they looked at me. frick all those guys.

A whole lot, especially when the captors are not allowed to retaliate.
Lol wut?
They weren't allowed to retaliate? Those poor guards not allowed to retaliate to those mean bullies chained up behind iron bars. All they could do was water board them, beat them, sodomize them, full on rape the female prisoners, force the males to give each other fellatio, and occasionally kill one of them.
But you should have heard the mean names those prisoners called the guards while they were tied up with a rope hanging from their wrists! No amount of therapy will ever help those poor guards recover emotionally/ mentally from being called an "infidel", or god forbid *gasp* they were spit at like the guards at every prison and jail in the United States every single day.

Lax recruiting standards played no part in this. This happened early in the war before anyone who would’ve entered the military due to lowered standards would’ve have been deployed overseas.
Not completely true. I don't know when those guys entered service but there was a major recruiting shortage in the late 90's.

At least our guys didn't chop off any of their heads.

Either way, complete failure of leadership from the top down.

It makes you realize people will be people no matter what country they come from or what uniform they wear.
We’re all just a blink of an eye removed from being apes roaming the jungles in Africa. Sure, our civilization is better, but that’s surface level stuff. When the shite hits the fan we all act accordingly.

Yep. Like I said, I was young and naive at the time and looked at things in black and white.
Just yesterday I found out an old NCO buddy got 7 years for selling 180,000 gallons of JP8 to Afgahan locals, and it probably made its way to the Taliban. People are people and a uniform doesn't change that.

Meh, I'll allow it. Too far? Maybe. But the key is not to be a terrorist

When getting jizzed on and shite thrown at you becomes a normal thing, get back to me. Otherwise, STFU about the animals behind those bars and what they did to the guards. You have no fricking clue, and you live in a little bubble with no concept of what goes on in the rest of the world.
That goes for the OP and any of the rest of the assholes in this thread who think the guys locked up there are/were some innocent victims of mean bully US military.

Well...don’t be a terrorist and you won’t get butt fricked by America

Your boy watched Silence of the Lambs and told you that’s what the prisoners were doing and you believed it.
I guess they were all masturbating. Even the women.
