Exterior pipe for hose. I missed it in my prep. Can I thaw it with a torch/blow dryer?

You can wrap the pipe with a heating pad. Works pretty well and you don’t have to stand in the cold.

If it's pvc running to it I'd go with heat gun or hair dryer. Blow torch might get too hot to fast and melt something.

Wrapping all exterior freeze points. This was behind vegetation that wilted in the freeze. Did not see it before.

Is it keeping the water inside your house from running?
At this point, just leave it until it warms up.

This was my idea too. It's going to be back in the 40's on Sunday or Monday. I'm not washing the car over Xmas, am I missing something?

If he can thaw it before it freezes back into the pipe and breaks something and then let it drip, he might not have to fix a pipe.

But he could end up thawing it and then having to fix now if already busted...

It's probably just frozen in the spigot right now though.

Piss on it. That technique has worked for me in the past.

Copper use a propane torch

PVC use a hair dryer or heat gun but be careful as a heat gun can get too hot too quickly and damage PVC

This

Also, if the main line has frozen it’s blocking any water on the rest of the piping system.

When thawing you need to be ready to shut off the water at the meter in case there is another burst pipe in the house that shows once u thaw the main in order to mitigate damage.

I would just open the spigot up to relieve any pressure that might build up, then let it be until it thaws on its own.

If you can thaw it out and get it dripping, that would give you peace of mind. But you’re rolling the dice because it may have already cracked the pipe - in which case you’ll have to shut your water off unless you can isolate it.
