Let me first state that I suck at being a pet owner.
I am an excellent father (my wife's an excellent mother).
We are selfless in how we care for our daughter. We both consider it our most important role in life.
Swimming, dance and tutoring are things that we don't give a second thought to. To us it's important that she has those.

I don’t know why I ever think that starting a “feel good” thread will ever go well on the OT

Helped out an LSU Band member that needed a little extra money

Thanks, I needed the money and never had a problem working for it. I was so poor!

Come from nothing, didn't go to college (did go to trade school), but I have drive and understand my faults, and I will always own up to my mistakes and figure out how to do better. I could have been another piece of white trash like the majority of my family but I make good money, married up, and have a wonderful life. I'm not rich but we are very comfortable.
Soapbox begin:
I think the trait that got me further than I ever would've expected was owning my mistakes and faults and working on them. My bosses, past or present, never have had to lay into me when I make mistakes because by the time they get to me I've already beaten myself up, figured out why the mistake was made and what I'm going to do about it. Mistakes are learning opportunities.

Just dealing with people on a daily basis IRL. I'm an encourager, like to see people smile and try to make everyone I'm around feel a little better each day. Not a lofty skill or bragworthy, but it's something that gives me purpose and meaning. People come to me with problems, so I've built a little trust.

Married well to the Lovely & Talented Mrs. Lammo.
Helped raise three terrific kids, all successful and in their late 30s now.
Played baseball in the local hardball league through age sixty.
Had published five volumes of poetry in the last ten years after a thirty-year hiatus from writing creatively.

What can I say, I'm simple, I've never really wanted much out of life; a good job, a nice house, a decent car and a good woman. Marrying well and serving in the military are things I think I've done right. I've also never made the same mistake twice.

Not shooting any babies into bat shite crazy women.
There are others but, after reading what some of the poor bastards on here have gone through, it’s my proudest.
