His parents will get mad, but if a kid does this to you..
No they won't...they never do which I know cause I correct the kid all the time. There have been times where he's in my lap poking me in the face laughing his little arse off...his mom is 3 ft. away not giving a frick. I will tell him to stop...nothing cause he isn't used to consequences. Once I got up physically and somewhat forcefully sat him on the couch and sternly said, "I said stop, people don't like when you poke them in the face, it isn't nice." He looked at me still smiling like it was part of the fricking game. I have to get loud and stern before his mom passively says to stop and calm down.

Just found out my Aunt Karen won’t be joining us this year as planned. Very disappointed. I was looking forward to giving her hell over her name
She’s the antithesis of a “Karen”. She’s a salty ole gal from West Texas. She’s been known to run outside when she sees her motion lights turn on and unload her .22 into an armadillo that’s been tearing up her flowerbeds.
All while my uncle is asleep in his recliner, and nearly gives him a heart attack when he wakes up to gunfire.

I don’t know what’s worse, the story itself or how the word “awkward” is spelled in the post.

My nephew smokes dope all day every day, it's pretty much all he does.
Every holiday he has all kinds of wax, edibles, vape etc etc etc
Last Thanksgiving I drank enough to ask for a hit (it had been 20 years), that shite ain't like the pot we used to smoke back in the day. I could barely walk/talk and had to go to bed at 8 pm
This was at my mom's house with 20 people there.

This is my wife's complaint with their actions. She's feels like this is a gross overreaction and that they are going to regret it.
They both have health conditions but are not that serious. FiL is 74 & has diabetes, MiL is 69 & asthmatic but they both have their conditions under control.
I can't wait for Christmas!

This!
The first 8 weeks of this we tried to avoid and protect my 80 year old mom who is at risk. I dropped off food for a while and said hi from a distance.
Then we finally allowed her to come over, but we needed to eat outside.
She finally told me that she probably only has a few years left at the most and she wants to be with the grandkids and go out to eat once a month and doesn't give a damn about the risk. We try to use common sense, but it's not fair to shut life down for these old people.

Feel ya there brother, Last Year I had a couple beverages at T'giving #1. At T'giving #2, FIL and BIL broke out the edibles. Let's just say I took a little nap in the recliner during the "official dinner time". Gonna own that one for quite a while.

I had to step in and get in my moms face about this and my grandparents. I respect caution bc of their age, but I could see my grandparents getting depressed and it send then spiraling. It was a 2 month battle, but my mom finally lifted restrictions on them..... thank God, because I've seen a huge change since

Took my 85 year old mom to the eye doctor today and picked up her Sam's order while she was with him. She had ordered, in her words, "The same way she does on Walmart.com."
Sam's curbside delivery man had six bundles of bananas instead of six bananas. I took two to Miss Sue, and texted my next door neighbor about whether he wanted two of them. He said he wanted them, but don't bring them over. Leave them at the edge of my drive and he'd come get them. He didn't want to expose me to the Covid, that he, his wife, and three sons all have.
I wish I could just go over catch it, and get it over with, but I don't want to expose my mom and my 89 year old dad to it. Our only visiting with family and friends will be by zooming.
Thanksgiving 2020: When your biggest worry is Zoom crashing, and finding a decent store-bought pumpkin pie.

We've had our first cancellation - cousin's husband had a procedure to remove a kidney stone, so that's three chairs open. Started calling up some church folks that might be spending the day alone to see if they want to come fill the seats.

Have over 50 family members in town from across the country. We will enjoy thanksgiving just like any other year and no masks required.
