Your SIL is being ridiculous. You did nothing wrong.

Late submission supposedly I made my mother in law cry because I said I will move furniture today for her but didn't want to.
I probably will pay the price for months to come

I was told it was in bad taste to say it was like the bachelor in real life.
Before I even read this sentence I was about to post that this sounded like a trashy version of the Bachelor.

Had some pretty good drama at our house last night and this morning. Wife has a co-worker whose husband died in January, and her 2 grown kids couldn't travel home for Thanksgiving, so wife invited her to our house. She ended up getting hammered. Like freshman sorority girl at her first swap hammered. Cussing, propositioning us for a threesome, accusing me of "stealing" her car keys(I did hide them so she wouldn't try to drive home), asking if we had any weed, tears, etc. She passed out around 9 or 10 last night and I had to carry her to the guest bedroom. Wife stayed in there with her for a few hours scared she'd start throwing up and drown in it.
She was understandably mortified this morning. More tears, lots of apologies, etc. I drove her home because she was still slightly buzzed when she got up, on top of being incredibly hungover. Wife and I think she got nervous and felt intrusive or something and drank to overcome that. Wife has gone to have drinks with her after work a few times and said she's never had more than one or two. The 3 of us went through 7 bottles of wine, and best we can tell she drank over half the wine served, along with a few beers. She was going to come over and watch the Iron Bowl with us tomorrow, but I bet she bails.

My takeaway from the thread this year is that a lot of people apparently never leave home without their dogs. I have never had a relative bring their dog to thanksgiving. What do y’all do when you go on vacation?

This is the first time I've seen this thread so I'll post a couple over the years, better late than never.
A few years back my great uncle David(Grandma's brother) came over to the Christmas celebration and brought some 30ish year old guy with him. Uncle David hushed the room and said "Everyone, I want you to meet my son Tom". Nobody knew how to react until my Aunt said "sorry we don't have any gifts for you". Uncle David later received counseling from his 4 sisters about Christmas surprises
, we found out about 2 more of his kids this way.
This year I wasn't able to make it to Thanksgiving but one of my cousins has been pissed at her DIL for not letting her come see the newborn because of covid. My cousin has been telling the family about how she plans to "see that baby, even if it breaks the law"
apparently she's serious too so we've been hearing about her trying to get into their house at all cost.
ETA: Also this year for Christmas my cousin and her recently divorced ex will be over, along with her new BF. I will keep you baws in the loop.

A little late to the party. This thread is freaking gold (a solid nominee for TOTY.) A quick question... What level of trashiness is going to a bar to pickup a takeout Thanksgiving dinner? The food was freaking delicious and was fitted into our normal mid-day break from deer hunting.
My parents are divorced and little Dawg is my only kid who enjoys hunting...so just the 3 of us. My wife is a freaking saint...she actually encouraged the whole thing knowing it meant everything to my dad and my youngest kid. Meanwhile the rest of the family was 6 hours away, non-covid hotspot (we went to a state with a >35 + rate), and they did the traditional meal. The only difference being that since I wasn't here they had to buy an already smoked turkey & ham. I want to sleep in my bed so there's no way I'm going to tell her that the takeout meal (turkey/ham/stuffing/mashed potatoes/gravy/coke slaw/bread & butter & kneecaps for dessert) was better than what she cooks.
Eagerly looking forward to making a much more timely contribution to the Xmas Eve/Xmas in-game thread.

Trashiness confirmed.
Crap. Had two different threads open, got them confused while read, and replied to the old one. Sorry about that.

Does she have the incredibly annoying habit of saying "do you want to do X?" when asking you to do X too? Dont feel so bad, no man can hear that over and over without eventually snapping.
