Butterball Turkey at my local Walmarks is $21, says it feeds 8-12.

You baws have $37 to fill out the rest of this menu.

It was probably one of those turkey chunks that come in the aluminum foil pans. We used to get them at Save A Lot back in the day.

Where are these affordable groceries? $5.81 a head? On a 75% discount?

Who the frick wrote this and what the frick are they eating for Thanksgiving?

I can’t cook a decent meal (talking red beans, gumbo, crawfish pasta, etc.) for my family of 5 for under $60

Two boxes of Stove Top stuffing, box of instant potatoes, two cans of green beans, pack of crappy dinner rolls, can of cranberry sauce, two cans of pumpkin pie mix, and two pie crusts would cost more than 37$ and it would be about as cheap as you could make it.

OK, show me the menu you are planning to serve your 10 guests, and include all appetizers/snacks prior to the meal, the actual meal menu, deserts, drinks, bread, etc.

I've thrown a LOT of T-Day parties with as many as 25 guests and it' has cost me well over $400 to pull it off and that works out to $16 per person.

What are you feeding them, Spam and free Govt. cheese????

“If your dollar had the same overall purchasing power as a consumer in 1984 … this would be the least expensive Thanksgiving meal in the 39-year history of the AFBF Thanksgiving survey, other than the outlier of 2020,” the authors wrote.
But it doesn’t have the same purchasing power.

It’s too bad we had to go through 40 year high inflation the last 3 years.

The stores intentionally lowered the prices on thanksgiving specific items so they could get this propaganda piece written

Even then

the article is bs

How could anyone belive this shite??
$ 5.81 per person??
It's like the article was written by Pravda.
If you can't even be remotely accurate in the estimated cost for a Thanksgiving meal how would I even trust their credibility on any news they publish.

Could you even feed 4 people for $58? Saying 10 is laughable. The turkey itself is nearly that ha!

I’d love to see that menu or how they came up with the receipt.

Go to walmart this morning and get a 15 pound turkey, 2-28 Oz green beans, Instant Mashed Potatoes, Stove Stop Stuffiing, gravy, rolls, pumpkin pie and sweet tea for $44.98. More than enough food to feed 10 people thanksgiving dinner.

And here comes what is truly wrong with the economy....many are going to say these numbers are either false or no one would call that a thanksgiving dinner. No, you can not feed 10 people for $58 if you have to have two main meats, 5-6 deserts and 7-8 sides and wine etc....a meat and 2 or 3 is more than normal but its no longer acceptable...if you can't feed 10 people a turkey dinner its because you are feeding them too much, not that the food is more or less expensive...because you could do it today for less than $5 a head.

Blatant Democrat propaganda. Anyone who shops at their local grocery store knows that food prices and gas are anything but "historically affordable."

The frick are they serving? Ramen with an extra dash of water?

$45 at walmart for a meat (turkey), 3 sides, bread, tea and pie for 10 people. Today. All you gotta do is look it up. Not what most people would call anything more than normal Wednesday dinner but very much in line with what Thanksgiving dinner looked like until the mid 80s or so.
