Here's my deal with that:
The 2nd amendment is the only right that gets taken away for life which is fricking stupid.
If you go to prison and serve your time, when you get out all rights should be restored. If the Justice system feels you are threat to society and can't own a firearm you should stay in prison. Every free person should have the right to defend themselves. Illegal possession should only be for stolen weapons.

So for anyone that doesn’t know the situation, and before everyone talks shite without knowing, here is what happened.
One of Kip’s best friends, I won’t mention his name because this has been very very unimaginably hard on this kid, had a Glock that his parents had given him to carry in his truck. While at the parade, he got it out to show Kip and it fired, shooting him in the neck. The teen that had the gun was taken to the police station and after several hours, they released him to his family.
