quote:

A Texas man was arrested after cops realized he was using a “license plate flipper” to avoid paying tolls. The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office charged Preston Cody Talbot with possession of the device.

quote:

The license plate flipper, like something out of a James Bond film, gives users the ability to flip their license plate 180° to display another plate. It is installed at the back, and the driver only has to press a button to switch the display.

quote:

He was pulled over at a routine traffic stop for not paying a toll, and officers arrested him after they noticed the license plate flipper installed. Talbot reportedly owes $5,400 in tolls.

Maybe Coca-Cola will pay it for him for the product placement advertising in the photos?

Bond predated that by a long shot. His Aston Martin DB5 had a revolving licenses plate in Goldfinger from the mid-60s.

If he wasn’t lazy when he installed it and run the cord correctly, he probably would have gotten away with it

I knew what you were referring to that is why I said many instead of any. It was clear you haven't seen the early Bond films or you would have recognized exactly why they referenced Bond and wouldn't have said something so stupid.

"James Bond" technology is not a cord attached to your license plate. That's just dumb.

Also they take a photo of the car and even the driver in some places.

I know this sounds George Orwellian, but the state could secretly embed RFID tags in the plate and make the switching plates obsolete

Here’s the rub. Every once in a while, you’ll see a Houston area cop directly underneath an automatic toll booth. If you run through that with no plate or a plate that’s not registered with the EZ Tag on your car, he’s coming after you.

So, that’s dude’s idea was nice until he saw what I just described.

Not only does it sound Orwellian, it also sounds much more expensive to produce, and probably not worth the production cost.
