This thread cracks me up

Half of STM lives in the country south of town, just like TCHS is a ton of St Martin and North Lafayette people. Both schools have turds, both schools have kids from modest means, both schools are great environments.

The school experience is what you make of it.

I can’t argue. Well-built older houses, and property values do nothing but appreciate.

I worked at Teurlings for 20 years as a teacher/coach with the current administration and teaching staff. I have a nephew who graduated there and is an architect working in NYC and a niece who is a pharmacist at MD Anderson. I cannot count how many nurses, doctors, engineers, etc. I coached during my time there. My son was co valedictorian and my daughter is on the same path as a junior. It is a much smaller and less modern alternative to STM-which is also a great school-and it is a less expensive option. As someone previously mentioned, schedule a visit and decide which one better fits your family. Either option can prepare your children for a bright future if they are capable and place an importance on education.

My son went to ESA. He’s now in his 3rd year of IM residency. After that, a 3 year fellowship in Pulmonary Critical Care.

Daughter went to ASH, now lives in Boston doing Industrial Design.

For your kid’s sake, send them to TCH. STM is a shallow, narcissistic, Cathedral /Fatima cliques that think THEY ARE the center of the universe.

I know it's not the same school and has nothing to do with this thread but Moscona has announced he's leaving STM in Baton Rouge to go to a Catholic high school in New Orleans area. I believe this will be his 4th school in about 6-7 years

Yeah. He doesn’t seem like he can keep a job for more than 2-3 years. Why anyone would hire him with his job-hopping history is beyond me.

Having played both schools in sports, I find the Teurlings parents to be more down to earth.

Bold strategy, sir.

All-girl hs grads will give it up to the first pole that gives them attention.

Good luck

I am breaking the trend. I live on the southside, but send my kid to Catholic High New Iberia and the other to its feeder school. Break the trend, don't send your money to sTm or Teurlings

I graduated from Teurlings in 99. It was very family oriented back then not sure how it is now. I can honestly say I was probably friends with about 99 percent of the 130 in my graduating class. Good school.
