Charging stations must be so inconvenient as well. Waste part your battery getting to and from
It works that way with gas too...

Most people buying TSLA are doing it for the long haul. Short term losses are nearly meaningless as long as the company is still operating.
Most people buying TSLA realize that it is first and foremost a tech company. It just happens to sell vehicles.
Most people buying TSLA recognize that they are digging deeper and wider moats on multiple fronts. Battery tech and production, a network of rapid charge stations, autonomous vehicle tech, on-premises energy generation and storage.
Most people buying TSLA realize that they are buying future potential rather than present dividends.

What's funny?
How do you explain the valuation in light of the financials? It may prove to be a bad bet, but I don't think I'm far off the mark in explaining why the stock doesn't seem to be affected much by this type of news.

Does god miracle your arse to the gas station, or do you burn part of your gas getting there?
Gas stations are literally everywhere. You're not finding a charging station in BFE

You'll pass a gas station anywhere you go. You won't pass a charging station anywhere you go.

We don't know for sure about profitability of SpaceX because it is private at this point. My guess is that they are still "buying work" at this point-- not seeing profits yet-- I could be dead wrong.
Granted we'd never know for certain without public financials, but when analysts look at the traditional costs of launching rockets and then compare that to the SpaceX design with its reusable components it's almost impossible that they're not absolutely printing money.

His electric leaf blower will save the company.

Tesla will need to raise $2.5B in the third quarter according to Morgan Stanley as per my CNBC app.

Wall Street Journal did some reporting on this in 2017 with available information, and concluded they were likely operating at a slight loss then.
They definitely have solid revenue. Risks seem high and R&D costs are killer, and I'm sure "success" can turn on a dime with an "incident" or two.
I want to see SpaceX succeed, like most here. NASA and others seems pretty solidly behind them for now.

Im not defending Tesla or Musk...or am I intent on criticizing him. (See Teddy Roosevelts "boxer" speech)
But...who the frick are "aanalysts" how in the hell do they have any reasonable thought into the numbers at Tesla. What if an "analyst" said Tesla is expected to lose 800m last qrtr
..so Tesla "beat" analysts predictions? I get that 700m seems like a big number for a yr much less a qrtr. But...anyone that works for a company of 100 or more works with an "analyst" and...how good are they at numbers within their own company? They have a software program and enough knowledge to sound good

You comparing the convenience of gas stations the same as convenience of charging stations?

Meanwhile, the other 90+% of the time that one's daily driving doesn't exceed one charge range, you just plug the car in when you get home and wake up to a full charge without driving out of your way at all or waiting for the tank to fill. All told EVs are much more convenient for most people.

What happens when a S. LA Thunderstorm knocks your power out overnight? Do you walk to work? Just curious.

The anti-EV crowd is hilarious. You guys ask some of the stupidest questions. "Just curious", smugly, as if an occasional power outage is an EV killer.
If power outages are a real problem for you, perhaps you should look into another Tesla product, the Powerwall.

I am not anti- EV. I actually don’t care one way or the other. My problem is with Musk and his bullshite. He could be the ceo of exxonmobile and I would t like him or his bullshite.

What are the owning and operating costs of a Tesla versus a comparable sized traditional sedan?
