Haven't seen this on the OT yet. Have seen a lot of argument on social media both condemning and supporting the officer's actions.

Officer punks out drugged up 18 year old kid during the process of the arrest. Probably went a little too far. Some saying the kid was taught a valuable lesson. Some say the officer was way out of line and deserved to be fired.

What say the OT?

This was in the Non-LivePD thread.

Typical Swamp Cops though.

That's a pretty trashy writeup, but then again it is the daily comet

Cop needed to realize the individual was under the influence and should have never unhandcuffed him. Throw him in the car and roll on.

the Duplantis video, Cehan is seen leaning into the open back door of Sheriff’s Office unit 110, and 130-pound, 5’6” Verdin can be heard challenging him to remove the cuffs.

“You want me to take this badge off me bro?“ an obviously agitated Cehan responds. “Take this f---- badge off and these handcuffs off and see what the f--- you’re really going to do. You ain’t s---, you ain’t s---. I f--- dare you. Stick your f---- hands on me again. Do it. Do it again.”

Cehan yanks Verdin out of the car and takes off the handcuffs. A noticeably chastened Verdin is then walked away from the car.

Verdin was shouting obscenities at the officer and was spitting on him, the Sheriff’s Office said.

little cock sucker deserved an arse whipping. Only reason to fire anyone is b/c they let the video happen. Should've driven to a cane field and tuned him up.

That's pretty shitty actions by two of those cops. One was actively trying to legitimize assaulting a kid; the other was trying to help him cover it up.

Neither one of those cops needs to be in a position of authority.

The third cop lost his cool but appears to have stepped in and defused the situation. Good job by that guy.

-Mother calls cops on Mothers Day because her son hit a dog on the head with a crescent wrench, fired 2 shots with a .45 towards her then continued to shoot his gun into the woods and she felt threatened

- Cops find him 1/4 mile from the scene, arrest him without incident

- Cops bring him back to the scene

- He threatens to whoop cops arse while in the backseat typical mouthing off 18 year old

- Cops pull him out of the cop car, de-cuff him and tell him to hit him, basically baiting him

- 18 year olds girlfriends father in law records it

My thoughts, cops should have taken him straight to jail, not stopped at the house where it went down, they are not there to "teach a lesson"

Also, the 18yo dad was arrested last night for threatening the cops

That is some back woods shite there, on both sides. I can only imagine what would've happened if the camera wasn't there

incredibly unprofessional of the officers.

If you can't keep your cool in volatile situations, you have no business being an officer of the law.

Good work by the cops. Sometimes little boys need to be taught a lesson not to threaten men. This pussy arse society we're in currently could use a lot of the same.

I've seen a cop do the same, and actually whip the dude's arse when they threw down. Didn't charge him for fighting either

I thought they did Ok.

Did OK? That cop was looking for an excuse to assault a kid half his size. That should never be considered acceptable.

That cop would have lied about taking the kids cuffs off, too. And is buddy would have lied for him. Now they have to answer for their actions. Damn, I hate liars.

It is not the police officer's job to "Teach lessons"

It is their job to enforce the law with as minimal impact to public safety as the situation allows.

There was no reason to bring the young man back to the scene. if they needed witnesses to identify it was him who fired the shots, then send cell phone pics to the officers at the home. Or lock up the obviously intoxicated young man and have the complainants view his mugshot at the station.

how are you with little shite-arse 4' punks that get lion-mouth when they are high? little bitch was spitting on the cops and running his mouth. Should the cops have done better? Sure. But that little frick needs an arse whipping as bad as anyone in the world today.
They'd have done him a favor if they'd have beat the crap out of him.
