Kilometer is too small, Liter is to small, reading a metric tape measure sucks, a cm isn’t big enough and a mm is too small, it’s all a blur. A kilogram is too heavy, And weather shouldn’t need decimal places for everyday usage like celsius.

Right. Our system is intuitive, more so than Celsius. There are certain areas where volume or distance could be better served with the metric system, but I like our temp nomenclature as it is more intuitive.
Except it's not. Celsius is based around the melting point 0C and boiling point of water 100C.
Fahrenheit is based on the internal body temperature being 100F. And 0F is meaningless.
edit typo. Whoops. Autocorrect and swipe texts wins again.

Imperial is maddening, especially if you have to be more accurate than 1/16.
it's not hard to find a tape measure that has 32nds or even 64ths.

I'll add that Fahrenheit is much easier for humans to relate to since our bodies are around 98deg F. We understand 100deg F better than whatever the Celsius math works out to.
that’s some Nobel level analysis

I remember being in grammar school, back in the 70's, them telling us the Metric system is going to take over in the US within the next decade...
fricking THIS and French being one of the most dominant languages in the future.

Few people in this country understand calculus.
Fahrenheit is the peoples champ and is more detailed than Celsius, which stretches their degree.

Good question with complicated answers.
1. Changing to metric would carry a huge cost under the surface. Think about all the engineering documents, road signs, mile markers that would need to be updated if we swapped over. Not to mention the speedometer in every single car.
2. You would have to change how everyone thinks about speed while you make those changes. Think about trying to tech the not-so-intelligent basic fractions again?
3. The imperial standard does have its practical and pragmatic benefits. The number 12 for example can be divided by 2, 3, 4, and 6 which has its advantages in construction. Fractions like these are typically easier to deal with on a tape measure than .3333 ect.
You're not necessarily wrong thinking we should change but it's definitely more complicated than a blanket statement "we are metric now."
You did not answer his question. You gave the reasons why we will never switch over.
To the OP, the metric system is far superior. There is a reason we measure certain items in metric (fluid, race distances, etc).

idk how we got here
At the time they were meeting in France to develop the Metric system Thomas Jefferson was mad at France and refused to participate. That’s why we stayed with the Imperial system.
PS: we need to switch. There will be some short term wailing and gnashing of teeth, but we would get thru it. Think of it like a computer conversion at work. Short term pain in the butt for long term gain. Sports can be exempted but everything else needs to change.

Because of my profession, I tend to think in small units of weight and length in mm/cm/grams/kg, but in distance/speed, still prefer imperial. Also the math on those conversions back and forth are easy to me, so no biggie either way.
I definitely prefer Fahrenheit to Celcius - I've tried to develop a feeling for what is what with C scale, but outside of 0, 37-39 and 100C, I have no feeling for it and have to do the math conversion. It has taken me years to burn into my brain 1.8C+32=F, but it just seems random. I virtually never have a reason to go the oppisite way.
This is absolutely the way I think

there’s something rather wonderfully intuitive in tying what’s deemed a really hot ambient temperature to human body temperature.

Give ‘em and inch and they’ll take a mile is so much more powerful than Give ‘em a centimeter and they’ll take a kilometer.

Tell me why Imperial is better than the Metric system
I've used both my entire career as an engineer. The only time it makes a difference to me is when I'm trying to communicate force in the imperial system. If the end game it to get to pounds force as the final outcome I start in the metric system and convert newtons to pounds to make sure I'm in pounds force. The whole pounds mass, slugs and pounds force in the metric system is screwy. I mean, I know what the deal is, I just trust my calculations in the metric system when looking for force.

The small measurements are the only advantage I see. It's much easier to deal with millimeters than fractions of an inch. And I would much rather deal in grams than ounces. (Imperial has grains but it's only used for things like gemstones or gunpowder).
But other than that, the rest of the distance measurements are easier in imperial. For instance, it's much easier to say "he's 6 foot 2" than "he's 1.82 meters tall" which is what they do in Europe. Same goes for weight. Give me pounds over kg any day.
As another guy said, F is much better than Celsius for everyday stuff because it is more precise. You have to use decimals in Celsius to be as precise as Fahrenheit. This might not matter in a lab, but it sucks in everyday life. "Hey, Jim, how hot is it outside? Oh it's 31.73 Celsius, bro."
