Baton Rouge, LA

Has it all.
Also proximity to Nola, close enough to Houston, not far to the beach.

I live in Baton Rouge because apparently I’ve tricked someone into paying me way more money than I think I’m worth. I’m heading to Texas when I retire with a reverse Snow Bird place in Tennessee.

Wherever you have good friends and/or family. There are a few sexy cities to live in when you're young and single, but you can make a great life in a lot of places

East TN is heaven. Much lower cost of living than NC and you're still right there and can do anything in NC you want in a single day.

St. Pete is growing fast, I have several co-workers buying stuff up there. People are leaving the Miami area because it’s gotten too expensive.

We are probably not going to retire in Florida. I don’t know where yet. Like others said NYC would be great if money was no barrier.

Awesome place to live, but what could you possibly do for work up there?

Anywhere in the Rio Grande Valley.

It’s cheap and the winters are amazing. 70s for highs, 50s for lows.

Tampa, Orlando, Daytona. Central Florida is easily the best place to live in the US.

I'll pass on that climate.

Definitely, I will remain in the South. The South, may get a lite snow once every 5 years. frick living where it's cold. Occasionally, I'll visit areas where it gets cold and everytime, it makes me thankful for living in the South.

It’s an area with great public schools, a healthy economy to match the cost of living and no cultcha to be found.

A lot to be said about that - sounds perfect.

The colds not so bad. And today I’ll be taking the 30 minute drive to the beach, where it should stay in the upper 70s all day.

So there’s a give and take.

Santa Cruz, CA. It’s not scalding hot in the summer and you’re a quick drive away from San Francisco. The Santa Cruz Boardwalk is awesome as well.

Not been to Montana on your list, but I can vouch that the rest are all nice areas. I agree somewhere with mountains and great hiking/outdoor activities would be my choice.

If money were no object, I’d vote San Diego. Beautiful place with tons to offer and the weather is essentially 60-80ish year round.

Realistically I’d probably pick Colorado, which is also gorgeous and has 4 seasons with outdoors activities easily accessible for each.
