Man I hate to get into middle school bullshite with my wife and daughter, much less on my leisure platform. You guys do your thing.

It turns into that kind of shite in every thread on the OT. Every conversation turns into a pissing contest between 2-3 posters and bring up shite from 12 years ago that they somehow hang on to. I don’t understand how some of you care so much. Aside from a few posters on this board, I really don’t remember most of your handles. I discuss the topic and give my two cents and try to move on. Some of you grown arse men act like some high school girls.

Anyway, I quite enjoy Shrubber’s Alaska stuff and think it’s pretty cool. 08 gets pissy whenever I shite on Louisiana too because he’s insecure about it.

Awesome place to live, but what could you possibly do for work up there?

OP’s question is probably too broad for one single answer for an entire lifetime.

What works for a person as a kid may not be what they want/need for the other stages of their live, much less if they marry, have kids, grandkids, develop new hobbies, etc.

That’s why ballers have the combo platters of “presences”: Beach, Mountain, Ski, SoCal, NYC

Sorry for the OweO-ish length answer.

Tl/dr: If I didn’t have family?

La Jolla maybe or Montegut.

They’re eerily similar.

I don’t understand why anyone would want to live where temps remain cold in April and May.

It seems very depressing to me.

He gets pissy if you move from LA and still post here. That's how insecure he is. Hell, I've said nice things about LA and he still gets all catty.

Every one of these "best places" threads trigger the hell out of him.

Central Florida is easily the best place to live in the US.

And you sprinkle fire ants on the food at the buffet where you stand in line with thousands of grumpy retirees who are there for the early bird specials.

I’ve been to SoCal to vacation, and while I loved it and can’t wait to go back I think I would off myself not even a year in if I moved there.
you’d off yourself living in La Jolla, Del Mar, Carlsbad?

I honestly have no idea who you are and don’t think I’ve ever replied to any of your post. Who are you and remind me where do you live?

However, 12 hours later, Roger continues to post about how much he just ignores me

Carry on, have a nice day, I have a full day of outdoor activities to prepare for.

Not many places I couldn’t live for awhile

None I definitely would want to live forever

More important now to be within a day’s drive of the people I know

It is all relative to the individual. For me, the best place to live is within driving distance to my mother. I will reevaluate that when she is gone.

Lot of money in La Jolla. Some bad bitches here too. I know I’m splitting hairs but I prefer Del Mar.

I like Laguna Beach personally, too bad I can't afford to live there.

It's insane here ...not to mention the HOA fees ($336 per month!) and property taxes.

Del Mar 600sq ft= $350,000

Is money a factor? If not, SoCal

Taxes are too high, plus I would not live there unless I owned a helicopter.

It really does depend on what you enjoy and how wealthy you are.
Park City or Jackson Hole are great.
Malibu
Portland or Seattle
Denver is nice, or Frisco, Colorado
Durango is great
Knoxville TN, as someone else pointed out.
Plenty of places in the northeast IF you can escape winter. Inlet, NY is beautiful as is Maine
I was just in Santa Fe for a couple of days. Great climate and art scene.
Of course the Keys and Miami area are great if you’re rich.
If you’re middle class it’s hard to beat Knoxville or New Orleans.

I think it is seasonal for the most part. October through April, New Orleans is my favorite city in the US. May through September it would be somewhere like Portland, Maine or Traverse City, Michigan.
