How long until schools give up and rename “liberal arts“ programs because people misunderstand what it means?
“Hell no. My baw Dustin will go to a conservative arts college or I shore as hell won’t be paying for it.”

Wiki tells me it is a liberal arts college. Will going there turn him into some flaming SJW?
It’s pretty preppy and fratty. Why do you all perpetuate this nonsense that every small ‘liberal arts’ school is a bunch of women’s studies majors? You realize schools like Sewanee offer economics and premed, right?

Sewanee is probably as SJW as it gets for rural TN. It's extremely liberal over there. Nice campus, love that area, wish it was closer to Chatt. Wouldn't mind living over there, have good friends that own tons of acerage out that way.

My high school had a bigger enrollment than Sewannee. Sewanee is literally in the middle of nowhere. It is too far from Nashville/Memphis/Knoxville/Chattanooga to go hang around for the night and head back to Sewanee. Also, I believe they have one bar/restaurant there.
Does that sound like a place you'd like to spend 4 years?

That is literally the only thing I know about Sewanee. They’re almost just a trivial pursuit question at this point.
I always assumed they were defunct or no longer in business.

They left the SEC because in 1940 they were able to hire the president of Harvard. He accepted on the contingency that they de emphasize athletics, which was something the Ivy League had already done.
They still have the greatest college football team of all time though. The 1899 squad went undefeated, and beat Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, Alabama, auburn and ole miss all on the road in a span of 12 days.

Such a typical OT response.

One of my Godsons is starting RB for Sewanee this season. They went into the season with a 19 game losing streak, and went 3-9 this year. He had good numbers, but they have a long way to go as a team.
I have spent a lot of time on that mountain over the years. Great school if you are into outdoor activities. We killed a pile of ducks up there. You had best love to study though, if you plan to attend.

On July 4, 1857, delegates from ten dioceses of the Episcopal Church in the United States — Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas—were led up Monteagle Mountain by Bishop Leonidas Polk for the founding of their denominational college for the region. The goal was to create a Southern university free of Northern influences. As one of its founders, Bishop James Otey of Tennessee put it: the new university will "materially aid the South to resist and repel a fanatical domination which seeks to rule over us."
For a liberal arts college, it sounds like it’s right up the OT alley

They had no business in the SEC, in the 8 seasons they played football in the SEC they never won a conference game. They were shut out in 26 of those 37 loses.

If you have any specific q’s I? can answer or find someone who can, I? have 2 cousins who have graduated in the last 5 years, 1 still works and lives in sewanee, 1 cousin that still goes to sewanee, and another that went like 30 years ago. It’s probably where I’m gonna go. So make of that what you will lol.
-best campus ever.
-lots and lots of partying. Underage drinking is allowed. The cops don’t care
-pretty hard academics
-everybody is super nice
It’s the only college I? want to go to not in Texas. It’s frickin’ awesome.
