Ska Brewing is a great place to drink and eat with some great beers.

It's not downtown, but not too far.

Went there a few years back. First time was when I was 12. I brought my son out west to see it and appreciated it a lot more.

its high enough to have thin air. the golf course was a dream to play in that the ball flew further and would not hook or slice because of low air density

Durango & Silverton Railroad. This is a must-do. IMO the most beautiful train ride in the country.

It's too bad the only visitor you're allowed is Lena Dunham. But at least it's not a conjugal visit.

I live there.

Carver’s Brewing, College Drive Cafe are both great for breakfast.

2nd Deli & Spirits good lunch spot.

El Moro Tavern on Main has great food and even better beverages.

Main St can be really touristy.

Driving up on Rim Dr on FLC campus has a great overlook.

Eta: The drive north on 550 to Silverton is amazing. Weve gotten some snow recently but CDOT does a good job of keeping the roads clear

Little known fact - the largest (and maybe only) car dealership in Durango was founded and owned by former Shreveport natives (Charles Carroll). My boyhood neighborhood friend, Chuck, moved with family to Durango to start their business right out of high school in 1971.

Hadn't talked to any of them for over 30 years and called them out of the phone book at their home while driving through a few years ago, and the mom recognized my voice as if I was still a teenager, LOL! Great folks, and a beautiful little town!

Purgatory ski resort was fun

Skied there a bunch growing up. My parents have friends that live up there. Will be going back soon to ski or fly fish depending on if we decide summer or winter.

The group we went with would always go to Francisco's in Durango for Mex food. I can also vividly remember Elk everywhere, in the damn road even, one year around February.

Chuck is still there and owns a restaurant in town!

Only place to get anything resembling Louisiana cooking in town.

Had a great pizza and cold beer at Fired Up Pizzeria. Mrs T-Bro liked the Italian margarita.
