Exactly. Robert Francis O’Rourke, his campaign, the media, & the leftists here in Texas are praying for another Winter Armegedon 2.0 so they can blame Abbott & Patrick to attempt to hurt them politically. They are cheering for weather chaos. This is where we are now in this country.

The top post on reddit right now is from /r/technology about how Texas is not prepared and this will be last year all over again and how its all Abbott and the Republican's fault.

Also, HRRR and NAM have both been consistent for a few runs now with between a .250" to a .750" of ice for the Memphis area and the Eastern extent of the storm.

At this point I would be shocked and amazed if your flight aint cancelled.
Ugh.. there are two flights tomorrow morning with the same flight number (which i thought was weird).. one arrives DFW at 9am and has been cancelled .. the other (mine) arrives DFW 11am and is still ‘on time’…. I may have screwed myself when I booked it opting for a later time.. there is still hope for it to get cancelled though .

there is no sense in turning this into a political thread but republicans will have no one to blame if the grid does fail again.
The wishcasting on reddit is pathetic pretty much every thread is either Ted Cruz jokes or pure doomcasting

It's gonna be like a two day thing in Houston, maybe that. Why are people freaking out?
The only thing that really worried me was the French toast. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of a French toast binge. And I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon. Probably at the next gas station.

I agree, Chris Salcedo was really hammering this point home this morning on WBAP, about how our government wastes tax dollars on things like helping illegal immigrants instead of things that will actually help Texans. Yet, we all still have to send our tax dollars to Austin anyway.
I am not a big Abbott fan, I am voting Huffines in the primary, but all the democrats I know are hoping and praying that shite hits the fan.

I don't see how the grid has the same issues again as this storm won't nearly be as cold. The ice though will knock out power regardless of the grid's capacity. But I've already seen articles saying "Derrrr Abbot Promised We Wouldn't Lose Power, but Now He Saying That Power Loss is Likely!". No shite idiots. That's happened with every ice storm ever.

The media and left will ensure they find some random neighborhood that loses power and act like the entire DFW metro area lost power.

A lot of people are trying to make it political to use as a weapon against Republicans and use as a vehicle to push Beto.
TBH no one has to try very hard.. Texas is all “We’ll go it alone !!!” .. and then it was an abject disaster of their own making when their special snowflake power grid went down.. im supposed to fly into the teeth of this thing tomorrow and have zero faith that i wont freeze my arse off or not have total chaos like last winter .

It's not going to be anywhere near as bad... I've lived in Texas most of my life and I can recall 2 ice storms that were bad, 2011 and 2021.
This is going to be a run of the mill winter storm we get once or twice a year. But I guarantee you the articles and news stories about power loss have already been written and will go no matter what happens.
Another difference is that this won't be statewide, it will be limited to North Texas. Again, that won't stop Houston or San Antonio area media from producing stories about how this storm caused massive failures in their power grids even if they don't get any winter weather at all.

Schools have now been cancelled for tomorrow and Friday. They don’t do that all the time like in Louisiana bc we have much fewer bus riders. Most schools are in walking/biking distance.

This was the best part about listening to WBAP this morning the conga line of callers calling in saying they aren't going to rely on the government and will take care of shite themselves
