You wouldn’t think this way if you were led to believe that police are unfair to black kids and THEN find yourself in a situation where your kid is being unfairly treated by a police officer.
unfair? No. I would also imagine that once my kid engaged the policeman and decided to turn his back and continue doing as he pleased the policeman would need to do something. I would take tasing over shooting or a physical altercation.

Well, duh. As opposed to illegally legal instructions? If a police office instructs you to suck his dick, you can refuse. If he instructs you to ID yourself (at any location) you must comply. You can be arrested for not complying. Failure to comply in the arrest can result in bodily injury.

to be clear, the cop here was wrong and is a dick but when I was a kid it was hammered into me that when a cop tells you to do, or not do something, you'd better comply, where I grew up non-compliance was a guaranteed, and justified azz whipping

But I guarantee this goes different if the kid puts his damn lifeline phone in his damn pocket, looks the policeman in the eye and calmly listens, responds, and follows commands. Life in general really is that simple.

You do understand that profiling is an illegal act, correct? Wearing all black while being black is not a crime. Being in your girlfriends backyard while you wait for her to come to the door is not a crime. Using a shortcut through hedges is not a crime.

Saying someone is suspicious because they are wearing all black in the middle of the day is fricking ridiculous. You really need to get out more if you think it's preposterous that someone would wear a hoodie in the summer. I've seen several people wearing hoodies on my street just this week.
