You ever yell at someone on the highway in a little bout of roadrage?
People have bad days, and all it takes is a little thing to piss you off.

Guess what. A LOT of people are not going to be very cooperative when they are doing absolutely nothing wrong only to have Officer Fife roll up on them demanding they put their hands behind their back.
I've never dove in bushes at the sight of a police cruiser so I wouldn't know..

And that is why his entire report must be treated as fiction.
He never feared for his life nor had a reason to.
Add in the lie about not being able to see his hands as well.
This is where cops really lose people.
If they would just admit to fricking up when they clearly fricked up people would trust them a lot more. Instead they write out blatant lies in their reports to try and cover their asses.
If his girlfriend's family didn't have a security camera you better believe this kid would have charges filed on him.
Hell, this cop's report also failed to note that the girlfriend was home and came out to witness the back half of the interaction which is required by law. All of the discrepancies in the report lead me to conclude you flat out cannot believe a single word of what this cop claims happened.

That's the pickle. They are human. Hard to take that out of the equation.
I've said before that ex military seem to make very good officers. They seem to have the right mannerisms and training I guess.

Apparently all the cop needs is suspicion.

Everything in that video tracks with the trooper's story.
Not at all. His entire report is garbage.

Black, brown, or blue, it's your right not to comply with a police officers request.
If an officer pulls you over then tells you to get on your knees and blow him. I guess we all know what you are doing.

But I'm cynical. If the cop was suspicious from the get go on this kid and the kid wasn't cooperating, what should an officer do?
He should use his brain and give the girlfriend a chance to open the back door. The kid was never a threat, had a plausible explanation for being there, and he was clearly not going anywhere.
If he waits a minute none of this happens. Instead he got pissed that the kid didn't immediately follow orders and tasered him.

Like I've said, I've seen police videos where everything seems completely normal and low key, then the person pulls out a gun and starts shooting.
Of course, not saying that was about to happen in this situation to this cop, but it does happen.
Seems cops are pretty frazzled these days.

We honestly don't know that, but I know where you stand on his report.

Suspicion of what crime? Suspicion alone is not a crime.

But according to the Florida law posted, suspicion can be used to detain and gather information. Which is what the officer was attempting to do.
Tazing the kid was a bad move.
Whether or not that is constitutional is another thread for another day.

100% he would.
Probably have a few things added on as well. Assaulting an officer, etc.

Florida 901.151
(2) Whenever any law enforcement officer of this state encounters any person under circumstances which reasonably indicate that such person has committed, is committing, or is about to commit a violation of the criminal laws of this state or the criminal ordinances of any municipality or county, the officer may temporarily detain such person for the purpose of ascertaining the identity of the person temporarily detained and the circumstances surrounding the person’s presence abroad which led the officer to believe that the person had committed, was committing, or was about to commit a criminal offense.
Where is the word suspicion?

What do you think suspicion means? Seems that regulation is speaking specifically about suspicion.

Need reasonable, articulable suspicion the person has committed, is committing, or is about to commit a crime.
Then, there has to be a threat or active resistance to justify the use of the tazer.
