If you get a chance pass through Parasol's when a game is on. Honestly one of the funniest setups around.
What do you mean? I've been to Parasols and sat at one of the window seats.....dont think I've ever watched a game there

What percentage of people get the flu vaccine every year?
It generally hovers around 49%
and its "proven".
They know they won't crack 50% with this thing, so they know they can keep control as long as they dangle that carrot out there for y'all to follow.

That’s a lie. Faster internet wouldn’t help because Beijing Biden said blacks are to stupid to use the internet

Yeah, couldn't sit at the bar, but had to sit 3 feet away at the wall next to everyone else pointed directly at the bar.
It goes to show that they aren't fricking with anyone that is at least giving a halfass effort to comply.

Avegno is white, isn’t he/she?
Edit: of course she is. Black people know that black people are vaccine hesitant (for good reason). Of course the white guilt lady would blame it on race rather than other factors.

quote:Called it last week in a rant on here. That's all I'm gonna say. John Bel is thinking along the same lines. Until we have the vaccination numbers, we're not getting fully open. Period. End of discussion.
And Cantrell said the city would be using those vaccination metrics going forward.
quote:Now see, this fricking pisses me off royally. Because it was just a few days ago that they had an open vaccination event at Southern University, and had a pathetic turnout. It's not that they're not making it available. It's that A LOT OF PEOPLE (not just blacks) are being belligerent and not getting the vaccine for whatever reason.
In Orleans Parish, about 60% of the population is Black. But just over 40% of the distributed vaccines have made it into the arms of Black residents -- mirroring similar statewide trends.
"They have to be the way out for everyone, not just those with the fastest internet or most leisure time," Avegno said.
I'll say it again. Until we have the numbers, these bastards aren't opening us up fully. So a shot is basically the key back to normalcy. Or we can just wait it out and hope that the citizens of this state vote for a Republican next time. Don't hold your breath on a Republican Mayor for Baton Rouge or New Orleans.

She is a former ER doctor with a background in "Social Justice". Degree from Notre Dame I think.

quote:It's really fricking retarded. They want you to wear a mask coming in, but as soon as you sit down it's ok to take it off. And we're supposed to pretend like that follows any sane logic because it's "science".
I had lunch in that bar at a restaurant not in orleans parish and none of the bar staff were wearing mask...all the tables were full, all the chairs at the bar were right next to each other and full, not one customer in the entire restaurant were wearing mask....and the place was packed to the gills

Avegno is a leftist scum. She loves this pandemic!

However, you don't find something SERIOUSLY wrong with the line of thinking cited here? That is get the vaccination not because you are compelled to do so for health reasons, but in exchange for executive branch government officials to "allow" you to enjoy basic everyday freedoms? HOLY shite that is the government holding society hostage in exchange for a de facto ransom. That is a very concerning precedent to establish. "Well, I don't really want to inject this into my body...but I'd like to be able to attend a parade again one day so I guess I have no choice".
Very well stated sir. This is exactly what is happening. It won't be just New Orleans where this happens either.

It also doesn't help that they've let slip that nothing will really change once you get the vaccination. Telling people that they can't go back to normal life isn't a very compelling argument.
Combine that with a certain percentage of the population who is very suspicious of everything covid - the mandates, the vaccine, the constant bait and switch proclamations - and its easy to see why we will never get to some pie in the sky vaccinated percentage.

And it won't be just this event either. The degree of short-sightedness in this whole pathetic episode in our nation's history is both saddening and astonishing. There have been influenza or respiratory virus pandemics for DECADES (many originating in Asia). The only certainty is that there WILL be another pandemic. So is what we as a society did/are doing be standard operating procedure going forward? That is bring society and commerce to a screeching halt until EXECUTIVE branch government officials decide the "new rules" of society and when it is "safe" for all to live in them?
I'm not on board with believing that covid-19 was created in a lab and intentionally released as a biological weapon. But certainly I think the western world's response to his creates TREMENDOUS incentive for nefarious actors who don't particular care about human rights to do just that. Simply create and release a virus and the western world will VOLUNTARILY kneecap itself.
What we as a nation have done in response to this is already absurd. However, it is completely unfeasible to do so over and over again when another pandemic circles the globe. And for those saying "this will never happen again" my response is "why not?" If the degree of the response to covid-19 out of concern for public health was reasonable and warranted then why wouldn't the same logic apply to future pandemics? Or will the loss of life we are willing to accept in future pandemics in exchange for continuing to live in a "normal" society be significantly greater than what we were apparently unwilling to accept for this pandemic?
Remember, this WHOLE thing started with the logic that we weren't going to be able to cure or eliminate the spread of the virus but that quarantining for just two weeks would "flatten the curve" so as not to overwhelm our healthcare system in treating the inevitable. 380+ days later the healthcare system has never come close to being overwhelmed yet restrictions still remain in place

Is it not possible for New Orleans' business owners to file a class-action lawsuit against the city and the "mayor" herself? Obviously, all of the original COVID goals have been met, and now she's once again changing the game, with an obvious goal of keeping people and businesses locked down, and injuring tax-paying businesses in the City... Seems like it would be easy to prove damages, and several attorneys would be licking their chops?
