I have both. The Tecova's are a great boot. You can’t go wrong with them.

Square toes too, real men don’t wear square toes working or dress.

This is actually pretty false. Most guys around the jobsite are wearing square toe, unless they are wearing lace ups..

However Round toe is definitely a dressier look for nicer boots.

I know some real Texans that wear them and like them well enough. I've never had a pair but I wouldn't turn them down.

Lucchese are my go-to however. Got a pair of dark cherry for years now and they are my around-town beaters. Love them. Finally had them resoled when the holes got too big, I resisted the stiffness of a resole and sometimes they don't do the best job.

I have 4 pairs of boots. My Lucchese boots are great looking but I can only wear them for a bit. They get a little uncomfortable after a while. My go to boots are my Ariat boots that look great with jeans and are comfortable all day long.

I have 2 other pairs, one is Tony Llama and another is some off brand. They both look great but I can't get my foot in them any more. Somehow I went up a size. I guess I could sell them, they are really nice. The Llama's I really would like to keep though. Can they get stretched or something?

I have 3 pair. I really like them. I have the "work boot" style that I wear all the time and they've held up a lot better than the Araits I had. After 2 years my Araits wore a hole in the sole, and I'm pretty sure they can't be resoled.

I also have the calf skin roper, and the ostrich roper. Those are more dress type boots

Tecovas are for hipsters and city slickers. Shitty quality, prices arent that great, and everybody I see wearing them has skinny jeans on. You can do better.

Make sure you try them on first. Tecovas run very narrow. I had to drop down a half size from my regular shoe and go with a wide.

They are solid boots, but I prefer my luccheses

I have a pair like this (far left). Most comfortable boat I have ever owned.

Tecovas also has excellent customer service if you go to one of their stores.

Absolutely. They always offer you a pour of bourbon or tequila when you walk in.

Love them. I have three pairs (1 pair work boots, one pair dress goat skin one pair snake skins) all of them are nice and broken in now and are super comfortable. My work boots I could live in for days, and both pairs of dress boots barely even needed breaking in. Ive got a pair of Lucchese as well. I can't honestly say I can tell some massive difference in quality.

Fun fact; the master bootmaker at Lucchese lives in Juarez and comes across the boarder to El Paso every day for work. I used to work for the company that owned the warehouse the Lucchese factory is in and got to meet the guy on a tour.

I got a pair of The Coopers back when they were $600. Now $995. I only wear them in the winter with dark denim.

Chippewa round toe work boots made in US. Current pair is 6ish years old.

Mandujano chukkas if someone is going to see my feet.

Flip flops 99% of the time.

As soon as I can justify the price Mandujano caiman slides.

I live in Texas. 90% of ranch workers these days wear square toe. Round toe is really only popular in the cities, with the older crowd, and with younger landowners. The Mexican ranch hands and most blue collar white guys wear square toe these days.

The only things to come out of texas are steers and queers...

If lizard skin is the most durable boot you have owned, you haven't owned many boots.
