Heck "Pet Day" probably means that this is the day that people can bring their "Pets" to take picture with Santa as well. This is the point of that day, to handle these kinds of requests. It's baffling that anyone would have a problem with this.

He said he was allergic
That's a well trained dog if he can control his own dander.

Team Santa. While the service dog thing is OOC, I'm more surprised that nobody gives a shite if people are allergic. frick you and your allergies.
Pretty selfish IMO.

I side with Santa but feel compassion for the autistic kid. I doubt this will be the last of these situations that they'll have to manage.
It also seems ridiculous that there is this bullet proof service animal act where it's impossible to refuse access but they hand them out with barely more than a doctor's note.

That's where we're at in America?
Exactly.. I was in Disney World for thanksgiving and the amount of service dogs I encountered was ridiculous. I saw maybe and I mean maybe 1 person who truly needed one..

Dogs are real. Santa is fake. I side with reality.

WTF? How in the world could you be team service dog? The dude was ALLERGIC.

The fact that they have a pet day makes me completely unsympathetic. I don’t understand how this bitch made the news.

Santa. 98% of service dogs are bullshite and weirdos who overvalue their dog.

I have 2 teenage sons with autism. Back when they were little, it wasn't as widely understood as it is now. We made do. I called ahead a lot. You just have to plan. Not saying I was all on top of everything all the time.
Not the case because multiple kids with autism. But, I didnt have the luxury of assuming anyone understood. Guarantee this mom just showed up and expected them to do whatever because her child has autism.

I love dogs and have no problems with service dogs for people that legit need them.
But in this situation I'm team Santa all the way. There was a designated day for people with pets.

My kid has an actual peanut allergy yet I do not expect anyone to accommodate us. My wife and I handle it. If it's a party at school we send him with a peanut free desert. The others can enjoy whatever the birthday child's parents provide. This is how we handle every situation including ballparks. We deal with it and burden no one. If it means sitting in the empty sections, so be it. My son understands and is demonstrates great character when he is limited by the issue.

That's how we are. My kids aren't always going to be kids, and the world is not going t accommodate them. It's better to teach them to speak up for themselves and handle difficult situations when possible. Of course, some kids don't have that ability, and in those circumstances, I hope people are accommodating. It just seems like this mall was more than accommodating. The mom just didn't feel special enough.
