Well that should increase the unemployment numbers.

Fire them all and black list them from ever working in the system again.

Now we know why they are demanding A/C's for all classrooms. Fatty's get hot!

I know the OT hates on some teachers, but it’s pretty fricked up if one of the demands not being met is A/C.

i'd like to know the conditions that the AC is in currently and what the demands are.

i grew up in TX, so AC was necessary, but i learned in the 90s when northerners would bitch about 90s in August that all buildings weren't built with it.

is it that they want older buildings retrofitted with AC or that they want the AC turned to a certain temperature in particular?

I get the feeling Columbus Ohio may be lagging in beauty pageant winners.

It appears the school board prepped the this eventuality with on-line classroom instruction to begin on schedule.

Are these teachers getting salaries & benefits while they are on strike?

That’s fair.

Looked up their average August temps and they’re not far off from ours here in Louisville (83 there, 85 here). They get a little cooler than we do at night though.

Way more schools had AC than I apparently knew based on these comments. Haha. I went to rural and metro schools private and public and only remember window units and windows for cooling during the first couple months and last month or so of school. This was in Louisiana, and I'm an older millennial so this isn't in barefoot uphill both ways times, but recent enough most my teachers are still teaching or have moved to administration.

Just looked up their 10 year avg highs and their August is similar to April and October in Louisiana. May is similar to March and November here. I definitely don't see AC as a health issue, maybe a comfort issue due to acclimation to the cold but not health issue. Heating I would definitely rule as a health issue, but not AC.

Columbus graduation rates, just like most Demorat run cities and schools, are abysmal.

I think there’s a good chance graduation rates will improve.

Replace teachers like Reagan did with air traffic controllers.

In the meantime, homeschool.
