Request a parent-teacher conference and let your objections to the interjection of partisan politics into primary school education be known. Tell her that if she does it again you'll complain to her superiors and request that your child be placed under the instruction of another teacher.

I don't see what kind of reprimand the school's administrators can levy before some informal attempt to address the situation has been made.

I've got no problems with liberals liking liberal presidents...I'll allow it.

Wait. You don't know the difference between Obama and Jesus Christ?

You think this is the kind of thing that a teacher is going to get fired over.

Teachers are generally raging liberals fwiw. I have aunts and uncles that are teachers and believe the same thing. Teachers don't make a lot of money so it is easy to see why they get on board with socialist policies

the teacher obviously shouldn't be interjecting politics into the school

Agreed. It's worse than that though. Apparently, Hussein Obama is the only President being taught about. This seems odd to me if true. It should be corrected. What a failure to only teach about one President.

but the same people here that will destroy this teacher, would praise the same teacher if the teacher told the class that their is only one savior, and his name is Jesus Christ or if the teacher had said that Obama is the worst president of all time

in other words, people are fricking hypocrites when it comes to this type of stuff

True, there are some that would praise biblical teaching in schools. However, your sweeping generalization that all people in this thread would do this is absurd.

My first grade teacher told me that ducks can't fly, and I was sent to the office for calling her dumb. Your kid will realize some adults are idiots before they're old enough for it to matter.

It might be time to start just a little. Tell her that different people have different opinions, and we don't agree with that particular opinion. As the child learns more she can form her own.

I'd probably talk about it with the principal. The teacher pushing her personal politics seems like an ethical violation to me.

Teacher has a right to an opinion but there is a time and a place for everything....the classroom does not qualify and I would communicate such to the teacher's boss

Complain to the school/the teacher. Completely inappropriate.

Although this 'happened' in Livingston Parish, so I'm skeptical it actually happened.
