teacher suspended for insulting muslim student asking for more time for assignment

Mohammed Zubi, 17, claims the incident happened at Ridgefield Memorial High School last Wednesday when he raised his hand during his math class to ask for additional time.
The senior student, who is Muslim, told CNN the unnamed teaching assistant immediately hit back with the terrorist remark.
“I’m looking around, at a loss for words, completely shocked,” Zubi said, adding the remark was loud enough for the entire class to hear.
Zubi said he turned to the girl sitting behind him to confirm he’d heard the assistant teacher correctly.
The staffer then approached him a few minutes later saying he hadn’t meant it like that, according to Zubi.
“In my head I’m just like, what other way could he have meant that?” Zubi said.
The student, who only returned to school Monday in the wake of the alleged incident, is demanding a public apology.

Edit: Myles Garrett tried this approach with no success in a system that would normally wholeheartedly have his back.

That's my usual go to for them. When it's a white dude I tell him to stop trying to use his white privilege. If it is a girl I say Karen now I'd not the time. If it is Mexican student I say no habla spanglish.

The think about Muslims/Islam is the Quran, you can't go three pages and not read something about punishment, fire, violence, it's crazy. So what are those people going to think?

It was s joke kid. A funny one at that. Kids are socially illiterate these days.
When I was in school back in 1999 we had a Muslim move in and another student told him in class to call him the morning he planned to own the school up. The kid laughed and we all ended up friends, sans ant bombs.
We played on dance soccer team and he was a hoot and quickly learned we all cracked on each other viciously.
But CNN wants to eat anyone alive for clicks. And these kids love the vicTim card and popularity it brings.
