The student was being belligerent and had a gun. The coach first was fired, and is now suspended.

---------

A Georgia high school coach was suspended after he defended himself and restrained a student who was in possession of a loaded weapon in school.

“I don’t feel like I did anything wrong,” Tri-Cities High School coach Kenneth Miller said, according to News 19. “I only adhered to what Fulton County School Board Policy says you’re allowed to do.”

Miller said that on Aug. 20, the school’s principal called him to her office about reports of students on campus with guns.

“During that process, we located guns. We saved lives,” Miller told Fox 5.

Miller confronted one female student while in the presence of police officers. Miller and the officers were unaware the student, who eyewitnesses described as belligerent and aggressive, had a gun at the time of the confrontation.

The situation escalated when the student hit Miller with a stapler, News 19 reported. Miller then grabbed the girl and restrained her until officers stepped in and took her into custody.

So, the teacher can’t stop the student.

If the officer puts hands on the kid, that is also bad. Shooting will cause protests.

How exactly do you stop a kid with a gun then?

Supposedly by turning off the light, locking the door, and pretending it’s a Saturday.

They should. Go fight in a parking lot after school.

And nowadays everything gets media coverage (whether through social media or traditional)

Even if you’re technically right and backed by administration, you’re wrong in the eyes of the woke crowd

And a lot of people DONT want to be teachers…there’s a legit shortage of quality teachers especially at the schools that need them the most.

this is why the thread earlier this week about the teacher getting "beat up" by a 5 year old was so silly. If that teacher had done anything to stop that little kid, she would have been fired. In today's environment, you have to sit there and let the kids do whatever if you value your job.

Perfect follow up thread to people wondering how a 5 year old Cosby kid beats up a teacher.

My wife was a teacher for 37 years. She retired in 2014. She is so glad she is still not teaching. She saw society and parental guidance degenerate over the years and there is no way she could put up with today’s crap.

It will fly by. I just have to make it to May and I am retiring. In your situation just think “ 2 years to get that 25th year contract”… seems to make it go by faster
